Mike's p.o.v; set in Insomniac era. Idc what you say, Mike's hair slapped in the 80s and in that era.

I was a cashier at the local grocery store, and it was only minimum wage. I sighed as I stood at the cash register; today was going to suck. Another boring day of being a sucky grocery store worker, going home, drowning my sorrows in video games or something, going to bed, and crying myself to sleep. The reason why I cried was because...I was lonely. I felt like I'd be forever alone due to my sexuality. I was gay.

But today was going to be different. I didn't know yet. Suddenly, a short-ish customer with beautiful green eyes and curly blue hair walked in the store. I blushed immediately. He looked like the definition of a badass punk. God, was he hot.

He then disappeared down an aisle, and I whimper softly. Apparently, it wasn't the softest, because I heard my co-workers giggling. The boy eventually came up to the check-out and started loading up the belt. I swiped the food items, looking at him. "How are you today, sir?"

"I'm fine, what about you?" He replied in a chipper tone. His voice was smoother than butter but still rugged like mountain terrain.

"I-I'm good, sir." I respond. Shit, I sounded so nervous. He only laughed in response. "Mhm. You must be new..." His eyes trailed to my nametag. "..Mike, I've never seen you here before."

"Mhm. Just got the job two weeks ago. I'm on cashier duty today. Are you a member?" I asked. He nodded and handed me his card. I rung him up, and he smiled at me. His teeth were geeked up but it made it cute if I'm honest. He grabbed his groceries and walked out.

I sighed dreamily. I heard snickering and snorting. "Shut up, Travis!" I yelled in frustration. When my shift was over, I walked home in the cold pouring rain. I lived alone in my apartment. No pets, no nothing. Just a small plant. It had a kitchenette, a "living room," a bathroom, a walkway, and a few windows. I sighed and looked at my bass on the floor. It was a lost dream I had as a cocky teen. I then cooked some Ramen noodles and watched Seinfeld.

Billie's p.o.v

I went home to my girlfriend. She was sleeping on the couch, and she just looked so...gorgeous! I sighed lovingly and stripped down to my underwear before lying next to her. "Hey, beautiful." I whisper softly. She smiles. "Hello, handsome. Have fun shopping?" She teases.
"You bet," I respond, "I met a new employee there. "Goes by Mike."

"Shh," She said, smiling softly at me. "The baby's sleeping." She was talking about my three-month-old son, Joseph. He was the cutest fucker on the planet, but God, he could CRY. Sometimes I wish I could get away.

The next week, I went shopping. I wanted to see that hot cashier.

Mike's p.o.v

I was stocking shelves, sighing at my fantasy. I knew what was happening to me. I felt a tap on my shoulder. I whirled around, ready to punch. I froze. It was that boy again.

"I-I never got your name." I stutter.
"Billie Joe. Billie Joe Armstrong. It's er, southern..." He rubbed the back of his neck. What a pretty name. I was blushing, apparently, because he giggled. "You're blushing! Cute!"

"Oh shut it." I said.

Five weeks later; nobody's p.o.v.

Billie Joe was outside in the parking lot. I'd gone outside to smoke a joint, and I was just about to light it when someone was walking up to me. My heart raced. What if it was le boss mon?

Fuck, fuck, fuck. I had to come clean! I took a deep breath. Who was walking toward me stunned me. "Billie Joe?" I said aloud. "You don't have a cart?" I looked around in confusion. "Plus, we're closing in five.."

"That's right," He said, "I'm not here to shop. I'm here to get something else." He pressed his forehead against mine. I knew what was coming. He tilted his head, closed his eyes, and...

We kissed.

It was filled with passion, longing, and love for one another. I closed my eyes as I involved myself deeper. Finally, what seemed like too short of a time, we pull away. "B-Billie Joe, can I-?" He put a finger to my lips. "That's for me to know, and you to find out." He walked away.

I watched him leave and sighed dreamily. I knew what had happened:

I fell in love with a customer.
