Airport Dreams

We arrived at the over crowded airport with all our bags packed for a month. I'm still confused about whether it was the best idea to leave my family at Christmas. Especially as my parents are divorced so at some point on Christmas day one of them are going to be alone.

I couldn't imagine how that must feel. You know, to have had such a happy morning and then it all just be gone in seconds as your children walk out the door off to another Christmas. To see what used to be your other half. The one you thought you would be happy with forever. Wanting to wake up to his smile every morning knowing that everything's going to be okay.

"Ashleigh mind where your going" I hear distantly in the back of my brain.

"Seriously Ash your going to get us kicked out of the airport in a minute!" That time it was louder and more clear.

Suddenly I feel a hand placed on my shoulders and I'm being shaken left and right. Up and Down.

"What the hell are you playing at?!" I yelled quite loudly at the person shaking me.

" Whoa Ashleigh calm down, you were just in some sort of day dream and running into things as well as people. The people that work here say if we cause any more disruption were going to be kicked out and we will miss our flight."

"Oh my gosh I'm so sorry! " I replied with distress in my voice "I'm just a bit worried about my family you know. " I continued "Some point on Christmas day they would be alone. Especially as my Dad is waking up on Christmas alone. Could you imagine how hard that must be?"

"Ashleigh, Ashleigh, Ashleigh" Brad said as he embraced me in a wall of warmth " What I love about you the most is that whatever situation you are in whether you have just been shot or your going on holiday with the person I should hope you love a lot, you always think about someone that means something to you. What their doing. How they must feel. And for once in your life I would like you to spend this month to take time off. Think of yourself for once. Especially about how YOU feel. Okay?"

"Okay" I said with a smile from ear to ear drawn across my face.

As we were walking onto the plane the woman smiled at us and whispered to me:

"So many times I have seen young couples like you getting on and off planes. Sometimes their happy when they get off. But sometimes their sad, and their face has been robbed of all colour. You can tell by the colour and their facial expression so many different stories. But you, my dear, have a story as your getting onto the plane which to me is very rare and I hope that once your walking off, with new memories in your head, that you remember the story you are now carrying with you. And that you don't let what may happen on your holiday fade that story or re-write itself because trust me, one day you will regret it. And when that day comes, it will hit you like a ton of bricks."

I nodded and smiled as I showed her my ticket and she let me on the plane.

It made me think how many nice people their are in the world. This is my twelfth journey out of the country and never has anyone ever said anything that heart felt and deep before to me. Its like she truly cares. For all I know she could be saying it to some other young couple like me and Brad right now. But in that moment a complete stranger with no clue of my true story cared about me.

And in that moment, I felt infinite.

Don't ask me why but I'm some what in love with this chapter. I don't know why at all. Its not very descriptive but I feel like I really thought about everything really well. (That sounds so selfish lol)

I hope your all still enjoying this fan fiction. Not much was mention about Brad in this but I just wanted to have a heart felt chapter. I promise the next one will have some Brad loving in it lol.
