"Good evening, tito," rinig kong bati ni Jayce.
Hindi ko alam kung nag-usap sila ni daddy. Baka ikinwento niya ang nangyari habang iginiya ako ni mommy papunta sa couch at umupo doon.
"Hey, it's okay," malambing na sabi ni mommy.
"Mommy, I-I'm sorry," I cried more on her chest. She caressed my hair to calm me down.
Pero hindi ko magawang kumalma. I felt... guilty, disappointed and frustrated with what happened earlier.
"Y-yung... answer sheet ko... " I cried in frustration. "M-mommy. I don't know what to do anymore," I hugged her tighter. "I wanted to prove to you that I can do it this time," I paused, sobbing. "M-mommy. Kaya ko naman e!" I cried painfully.
Naramdaman kong palapit sa amin si daddy.
"Daddy... I'm sorry," I tried to reach for his hand. "Sorry for disappointing you again. I-I'm really sorry."
"Anak..." he held my hand. "It's okay," he said.
I shook my head.
It's not okay! I made myself a promise, na babawi ako this time. How the hell would that be okay, kung nabasa ang protocol ko?!
They were both calming me down, but I couldn't. My vision were blurry because of the tears. It was painful. Iniisip ko pa kung tutuloy pa ba ako bukas para sa second day ng exam.
My mom guided me to go upstairs in my room. Pinaakyat niya ang pagkain ko, pero hindi ko ginalaw iyon. Tears won't stop falling, kaya umiyak lang ako ng umiyak hanggang sa makatulog ako.
I woke up when I felt a kiss on my forehead. Mabilis akong napadilat at nakitang nandito si Jayce sa kwarto ko. It was 9PM.
"You should eat," he said, but I shook my head.
"Love, hindi pwedeng ganito. You still have exams tomorrow. You can still try."
I sighed. "Okay."
I felt so weak, so he helped me with my food. My parents went inside my room, looking so concerned about me. Pero agad rin nakitang kumakain na ako sa tulong ni Jayce. I saw them smile at me, but I can't return it back to them.
I'm such a... disappointment.
Jayce didn't leave me that night. I was glad that my parents didn't argue with that. We woke up at around 4 AM. Bumaba kami ni Jayce for breakfast, my parents were already there. Pagkatapos ay nagprepare na rin kami.
"Anak... you can do it, okay?" my mom smiled at me.
