Mild trigger warning: brief mention of wishing death upon self. Very subtle reference.
5 years later
Tucker turned the A/C off as they put the windows down. The refreshing spring air setting the mood as they listened to Hooked on a Feeling by Blue Swede. Tucker thought it was funny to play the whole Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack every time they got in the car. He got the movie as a joke a few Christmases ago and wouldn't stop playing the songs every chance he got.
He lowered the volume as he got an incoming call. Emma snickered when she saw him scramble to get his Bluetooth headset on. "Hello." He answered.
He shot her a tiny glare as she kept laughing to herself. His smile contradicting the stern glare telling her to stop. "Yeah I have time." He said to the other guy on the line.
Emma leaned back in her seat, her head resting near the window as she let one hand out of the car to feel the gentle breeze moving along her skin. She couldn't believe how fast time flew by. Winter and Spring had come and gone, but they continued to remain at each others side.
After they got back home from Maine, neither of them knew that life was just about to kickstart for the both of them. Emma got an email confirming her acceptance to a University that offered interior design. She remembers the months she spent researching jobs she might be passionate about. Tucker stood behind her, rubbing her shoulder to demonstrate his moral support as she hit send to submit the essay. Emma screamed when she saw they had given her a full ride scholarship to attend the school. They said her essay had moved them and that they would be honored to have her join the university.
A few weeks later Tucker got life changing news from his agent. The publication agency loved his concept and were willing to sign a ten year contract with him. They immediately began production and prepared for a press tour. They claimed that they knew it was going to be big.
Balancing their schedules was tough, but they made it work. On top of all these new opportunities they were still getting use to the idea of being a couple. It was less awkward then Emma expected, but it took a while to get use to it. Emma still remember their first time as a couple. It was one of the most interesting experiences she's ever had. Before she would worry and be self conscience, but with Tucker none of that superficial shit seemed to matter. Her legs could have hair as thick as a chinchilla's fur and he'd still think she was the sexiest woman to walk the planet.
They fumbled around the first time, Emma couldn't stop laughing when he initiated it. His caresses tickled and she didn't pick up on what he was doing at first. It wasn't until he slipped his hand between her thighs that she stopped giggling. She whimpered at the contact and clenched his red cardigan between her fingers. "Is this alright?" He mumbled against her neck. Burning, wet kiss were trailed up and down her neck and he lingered on her collarbone while he waited for her answer.
She nodded, pulling his head up for a kiss. Emma parted her thighs wider, inviting him to settle between them. "I want you." She said. Her acrylic nails teasing the dip of his spine as she wrapped her legs around his waist.
Emma reached for the lamp to turn the light off. He took a hold of her wrist and shook his head, "Leave it on. I want to see you." He said.
That night was a reflection of their relationship. It was carefree and full of love.
Emma was brought back to reality when she felt a hand rest on her thigh. His thumb stroked her exposed skin in circles as he continued his call. They were making his first comic book into a movie. The sequels he had been working on were released and were received greatly by his core demographic. The New York times called it the best franchise of this generation. It had a better turn out than Marvel and DC combined.
