Two Months Later

"Emma we ran out of frozen waffles!" Tucker exclaimed.

"You mean my frozen waffles." Emma yelled back.

He grinned, "That's what I said."

"Get your own next time." She said.

"But they're like Hot Cheetos. They taste better when they're not yours." He said.

Emma came out of her room with a towel wrapped around her head. " I'll post mate some grocery's later. Do you wanna add anything to the non existent list I just made up?" She asked.

" Oh! Get me some of those cheesecake in the waffle cones."

A lot had changed since she first moved in. For starters neither was shy of eating each others food anymore.  They bickered about it for sure but it was mostly if the person who bought it didn't get the last serving. Other than that it was a free for all sort of situation.

Moving in had been easy considering Emma was willing to spend money on getting movers rather than relying on Tucker and her dad. It gave them all an opportunity to sit down and talk. Her dad trusted her decisions, but it did ease him to finally get to meet Tucker once and for all. They hit it off and they sometimes hung out without her. Not that she wants to join because they usually fan girl over art, but an invite every once and a while would be nice.

After she was settled in at the end of the night, they splurged a little and celebrated with a glass of champagne. Naturally Emma and Tucker fell into a deep conversation where they talked about their worries. The alcohol making them a little bit more honest than usual.

"I think if we keep each other in check we can make the changes we always wanted to make." Emma said.

"Wouldn't that turn toxic?" Tucker asked.

Emma thought it over for a minute, " I mean friends sometimes go through weight loss journey's together and people who go to AA meetings have sponsors to help them. I think we trust each other enough where it wouldn't be judgmental."

"So like having a buddy?" He suggested.

"Yeah. We could start by doing number 9 in the packet." She said.

"Exercise." He said.

" We could go on a jog every morning." She shrugged.

He groaned, "That sounds awful."

"I know which is why we're gonna do it together. Everything is more fun in twos." She said.

"Good luck getting my ass out of bed." He said.

"You're going on about it all wrong. Just think of a goal in your mind. You don't even have to tell me." She said.

He pursed his lips. His eyes shifted from side to side momentarily as he pondered through his thoughts,"Okay got it." He said.

"That was quick." She commented.

"It's all I ever think about." He admitted.

"Okay. Well what ever it is... when ever you feel like giving up think about what you want from this journey. And for extra motivation I want to tell you mine." She said.

A soft smile and a twinkling gleam of excitement in her eyes drew him in closer. He scooted over an inch and leaned in almost as if she were telling him her biggest secret.

"I want to drive again." She said. "I walked to the gas station out of sheer desperation for freedom, but even I recognize that's not one of my brightest ideas. But driving. That would be my ticket to independence."
