Just Friends??

Chapter 12

Ray POV

I'm surprised that my usual villains haven't done anything... Bad. Actually I haven't really heard anything from them for about two months now.

I hope they aren't planning anything to elaborate, because truth be told I'm not really going to care.

We're still looking for Henry, but still no avail. After what happened with Jasper he became a little more relaxed, which helped us all.

I was sitting on the U-shaped couch reading 'The Outsiders', which I didn't know was a book first, when I heard the elevator door open.

I looked up from my book I was reading and saw Jasper and Charlotte coming out panicked.

"Hey guys where's the fire?" I jokingly said.

"You're villains are having a meeting at the bakery downtown." Jasper said while he and Charlotte were heading to the computers.

"And." I said a little annoyed.

Charlotte and Jasper turned around to me and just stared at me dumbfounded.

"Ray... Why don't you care?" Charlotte asked.

"Why should I. I mean come on we got more important things to worry about and my enemies aren't my first priority right this moment." I said looking at Jasper and Charlotte still annoyed.

"Listen Ray... I understand that you don't really care about what your enemies are doing, but a lot of people may get hurt if you don't do anything. So please. Go and see what they're doing." Jasper said calmly.

"Jasper I know that you are scared for the citizens, but we never got an alert. How did you guys even know they're there?" I asked finally closing my book.

"Me and Jasper were there getting a lemon cake. And Jasper just happened to look over and saw all of them." Charlotte said.

I got up from the couch and started walking to the tubes when Jasper told me to stop.

"What?" I said a little to harsh turning around to them.

"Ray don't get harsh. We're just trying to still do something other than mope around now." Jasper said getting upset.

"Oh really. Cause just a few days ago you were crying in my room on how much you miss him." I said getting upset at him.

"Yes I was. But I said "do something other than mope around NOW." I never said I didn't cry or mope around because I fucking did." Jasper said stepping towards me. "Now I understand that you are still upset, but you still have responsibilities to take care of." Jasper said firmly standing right in front of me.

I was dumbfounded all I could do was stand there with my mouth ajar. Never in my life did I think that Jasper would do that to me or anyone in that matter.

"You're right Jasper." Was all I said to him and turned to go to the tubes.

"Ray." Jasper said a little more gentle.

I stopped right in front of the tubes and turned to face him.

"Yeah?" I asked.

"You need to blow a bubble before you go and see what they are up to. So they don't find out your identity." Jasper said with a little smile.

I did a small smile back and grabbed my gum from my pocket. I put one in my mouth and blew it. I turned and went up the tube.

When I got to the bakery door I saw all of them sitting there through the glass door.

It was Van Del, Time Jerker, Dr. Minyak, Nurse Cohort, Drill Finger, Toddler and Alien Girl.

I took a deep breath then opened the door. I didn't say anything just walked right in and headed towards the table.

While walking towards them I noticed that they were the only ones in there. I got pretty close when Dr. Minyak noticed me.

"Ah Captain Man." Minyak said getting up and... Smiling.

All of them looked up at me with a smile, but not an evil smile... A warming smile.

"What's going on?" I asked sternly trying not to let my confusion show through the cracks.

"Captain Man we were hopping you would show." Van Del said standing up smiling still.

"Why? What are you planning?" I asked just standing there. Not getting scared or getting in a fight stance... Just standing.

"Captain Man... You probably want to take a seat." Said Alien Girl in a sweet and caring tone.

That's when I saw a chair move over, but no one moved... It must Be Jeff.

"Jeff?" I asked looking at the chair confused.

"Yes he's here. Please sit." Drill Finger said.

I didn't want to, but they were being very nice and I was curious on why they were.

We all sat at the round table for minute just being quit and not saying a word.

"Captain Man would you like some Lemonade and some Pie?" Nurse Cohort asked breaking the silence while picking up a pitcher showing the lemonade.

"No I'm fine, but thank you." I said nicely refusing the offer.

"Captain Man we didn't poison anything we can all take a drink and bite to show you." Time Jerker said kindly to me.

"No I'm fine really. I just want to know why you are all being so nice." I said looking around the table.

All of them just looked at me with sympathetic eyes. Well I couldn't see Jeff, but I could feel he was.

"Listen... We know that Kid Danger was Kidnapped." Said Dr. Minyak.

"So. Wait do you guys have him cause I swe-." I started, but getting interrupted.

"No no. We didn't I promise." Said Drill Finger.

"Listen... We might not like you guys, but you know us we would call you and gloat that we have him." Said The Toddler.

"You're right. I'm sorry." I said looking down feeling guilty.

"You don't need to apologize we understand that you are upset." Said Alien Girl.

"Captain Man when we found out that he was taken we decided that it was time to put aside the differences we have and try to help." Nurse Cohort said.

I looked up and saw all of them looking at me kindly.

"Really? But why?" I asked confused.

"Cause... He's a kid." Said Drill Finger.

"How... Do you know he's a kid?" I asked getting nervous.

"We know his identity." Van Del said.

"WHAT?!" I said panicking.

"Captain Man calm down we needed to know to try to help." Said The Toddler.

"We aren't going to do anything to his family. They are already going through enough. And us doing anything to them would be wrong on so many levels." Said Dr. Minyak.

After he said that I started calming down a little, but still on the edge.

"Captain Man." Dr. Minyak said to me and I looked at him. "We think we found him." He finished.

"What?"
