After school I walked home taking the shortcut to the field I didn't want to see Dave he's annoying and a douche so I didn't want to deal with his "what happened at school today" or his "did you do you're homework" he's trying to hard to be my dad it's almost like I feel bad for him but he's not gonna be my dad and I will never refer to him as my dad he will always just be "Dave". I ran through the field with my arms open wide I'm happy? I threw my bag on the ground and lied down onto the field, I closed my eyes and smiled Dave wasn't around nor was my mother not any-
"Hey Madelyn!" I heard him say I knew already it was Austin, god what does a girl have to do to get some peace and alone time around here.
"Yes Austin." I said still closing my eyes,
"Do you want to get coffee." He said with a smile
I looked at him with a "really?" Face
"As friends" he said as he thought that I was thinking that he was asking me out.
"Sure." I said with a smile I was kinda thirsty anyways.
I grabbed my phone from my bag and just left the rest of my bag there.
On the way there we bumped into Julie, she said she had homework but we insisted that she come with us to get coffee.
At the coffee shop, Austin ordered a cold brew I looked at him in disbelief that he ordered such a bitter drink. I ordered a vanilla latte and Julie ordered an iced tea with lemon.
Austin insisted he payed since he invited us but as he reached for his wallet he realized he left it at home I told him it was okay and that I would pay I payed for all of us and we waited for our drinks. Once we got them we got out of the store and walked to Julies place because Austin's house was getting renovated and well we all know what's at my house so when we arrived at julies we all rushed to her room and I jumped on her bed and than I sat down on her bed Austin sat down on a bean bag and Julie sat down on on her desk chair. We all talked for hours laughing and laughing. It was a school night and we all had homework so me and Austin left I told him I can walk home by myself but he said it wasn't that safe of a neighbourhood so he walked me home
The walk was a very awkward silence till Austin broke it
"So...when should I pay you back for the coffee.
" you don't have to I mean what are friends for" I said with a smile.
"Oh look we're here." I said with a smile as I waved him goodbye I went inside the house only to see the one and only Dave.
"Where were you" Dave asked.
" Again none of your business but if you must know I went out with my friends." I said with a sarcastic smile.
"Without our permission? You're grounded go to tour room, Now!" He said with an angry face.
" Excuse me?" I said in disbelief.
" You heard me to your room now!"
" Stop trying to be my dad, you will never be my dad and you have no authority over me." I yelled as I stomped into my room.
I shut my door and did my homework I wasn't t hungry so I didn't eat once I finished my homework I got ready for bed and fell asleep when I got a random text.
" Hey Madelyn, it's me Julie I got your number from Austin."
" Austin has my phone number?"
"Apparently so well see you tomorrow."
I changed her contact to " Julie😽✨" and fell asleep.
