So...hey, I'm Medusa. Missy for short. This is my incredibly confusing story. Let's start after the very weird events at the museum. Grover, Percy, and I just got on the bus. Usually, Clover would be with us, but someone picked her up early. Grover and Percy were having this intense conversation. Something about protectors and something or other. Percy tapped me on the shoulder, "Do you know what he's talking about?" He asked
"No." I said. "I don't hear a thing."
That's when Percy looked out my window. There were three creepy looking ladies in the middle of the road. They were holding this thing that looked like a sock thread. Percy looked back at Grover. Grover gave him a look that said. "What flowers do you want on your coffin, sir?"
When we got off the bus Percy started questioning Grover, "What was that?" He asked.
"Yeah, I want to know too." I said.
Grover said, "No questions now." Then handed Percy a card with the address.
Half-Blood Hill
Long Island Sound (800)009-0009
"What's Half-" Percy started.
"Don't say it out loud." Grover shrieked. "Summer address."
"Good for you,buddy." I said.
"Okay." Percy said. "So, like, if I want to come and visit your mansion."
Grover nodded. "Or if you need me." He said.
Many minutes later. Me and Percy ditched Grover at the Train station. We got in a taxi and head over to our apartment. The first thing we smelled when we walked in was our stepdad. A word about him. Percy and I nicknamed him Smelly Gabe when we were about five years old. I can totally see why. He smells like moldy garlic pizza in dirty gym shorts. And he doesn't treat my mom or Percy very well. But we have a good relationship.
Gabe was doing his usual. Playing poker at the table with his friends. Gabe said. "So, you're home?"
"Where's mom?" Percy asked.
"Working." Gabe said. "Got any cash?"
Dang. I thought. Gabe can easily tell when you've got money in your pockets. In this case, Percy has about twenty dollars on him.
"Nope, no cash." Percy said. I stuck my finger into the seven-layered dip that was in the middle of the table. I smiled. But no one looked amused, other than Eddie who was looking right at me smiling back. I pulled my finger out that was covered in four layers and stuck it into my mouth. It tasted like guacamole, sour cream and salsa. I patted Gabe on his bald head and skipped off to my room. Percy came in a minute later.
"Did he get the money he was asking for?" I asked.
"Yup." Percy said. Then our mom walked in. Percy and I ran over and gave her a hug.
"You guys have grown since Christmas." She said. Then she pulled out a small bag of blue candy. Percy reached for it, but I grabbed it first. When Percy reached for it, I pulled it away and growled like a dog. "I have a surprise for you two." Mom said as Percy finally got some candy from the bag. Percy and I looked at her
"We're going to the beach." She said.
"Montauk." Percy and I said in unison.
"Three nights same cabin." Mom said
"When are we leaving?" Percy asked.
"As soon as I get changed." Mom said.
We haven't been to Montauk in the last two summers. Mostly because Gabe is worried about money. Then Gabe walked in.
