Chapter 10: Missy Jackson

"No, and you can't make me." I said stubbornly, turning around again and crossing my legs.

"She feels really bad." Will tried convincing me.

"Stop lying, I know she doesn't." I said.

"Okay maybe not." Will said. "But you need  to step it down with the sass!"

"Sass comes naturally to me." I said. "And I can't stop saying everything that comes to my mind. You and Nico will get together some day!" Will turned bright red. "Am I wrong though?" I asked.

"Yes, you are very wrong." Will said. "But we're getting sidetracked." I raised an eyebrow. "What was the fight about?" Will asked.

"Clover never lashed out at me like that before." I said. "It's not my fault Annabeth might die, blame someone else. It's like, 'I know she's your sister but get out of my face!'"

"It's Percy isn't it?" Will asked. 

I broke down. "I feel Clover's pain! But mine is stronger! Twins are different than normal biological siblings! Percy and I have known each other since we were born, we may have not been separated like Clover and Annabeth, but that doesn't mean I'm not scared to lose Percy!"

"I know, it's not like that." Will tried saying.

"WELL SHE WAS CERTAINLY ACTING LIKE IT!" I screamed so loud that I thought they could hear me all the way down in New York. "SHE DOESN'T EVEN CARE TO ASK ME HOW I FELT ABOUT LOSING MY MOM AND NOW MAYBE MY TWIN BROTHER!"

"I almost forgot about Sally." Will said.

"Maybe that's Clover's case." I said. "I'd be losing a lot more. And I'd be left with Smelly Gabe."

"Smelly Gabe?" Liam questioned.

"My step-father." I said distastefully.

"I thought you liked him?" Will queried.

"Pssh, you thought wrong." I said. "Just because we have a good relationship doesn't mean I like the guy."

"I'm so confused." Will said.

"I'm a very complicated person. Very hard to work with unless you are a family member or my best friend. But now I am totally free. No best friend here!" I shouted.

"No best friend, huh?" came Clover's voice.

"Yeah, you said so yourself." I said. "Am I right or am I right. I only care about myself, right? You think I totally do not care that my twin could die! That I already lost my mother and Gabe could be arrested for child abuse!"

"Who said anything about child abuse?" Will asked.

"You guys don't know me." I said. "You don't know my family."

"We're all technically family, right?" Liam said. We all turned around and looked at him.

"Wow, he actually said something smart for once." Clover said.

"I'm actually smart if you get to know me." Liam said. "How else did I survive the streets for so long."

"Luck?" Will asked.

"Demigods aren't lucky." I said, shaking my head. "Our life is nasty and downright dangerous."

"You aren't wrong." Clover said.

"Oh, so I'm right now?" I said sassily. Clover crossed her arms. "Just saying." I said.

"I have a feeling there's no fixing this." I heard Liam whisper to Will.
