Finding Love In Royalty

Chapter 9

"Shyanne! Can you stop pretending to clean long enough to watch a movie?" I ask her.

"Sorry Katy, you know what would happen if your parents found out we are friends, or what would happen if one of the princes just walked in?" She says as she sits down with me on the couch.

"Relax. All of the princes are in their rooms and probably will not be seeing me again until tomorrow morning. Just relax." I tell her, she sighs before nodding her head and I press play starting the movie. We were half way through the movie and just laughing our buts off when my parlor door opens and reveals Prince Liam. Shyanne jumps up off the couch and starts to clean again. "Prince Liam. What are you doing here?" I ask him as I stand up off my couch. He walks in closing the door behind him.

"What is going on here?" He asks walking towards me and Shyanne.

"Nothing I was just watching a movie as Shyanne was cleaning my room." I say as if it were totally obvious.

"No you were both on the couch laughing and watching a movie? Why try and lie to me if you know that I saw you?" He asks.

"Because Shyanne is my best and only friend, and I am afraid that if I told you the truth you would tell my parents and she would be fired." I say looking down at the ground.

"Why would I tell your parents and get your friend sent away? Your not the only one who would get into trouble for being close with a commoner." He says sitting down on my couch.

"What do you mean?" I ask him.

"I fell in love with a girl in my kingdom, she is a commoner and my parents would never let me marry anyone but a royal." He says putting his head in his hands.

"I am so sorry Prin-" He cuts me off.

"Katy what did I tell you at dinner?" He asks laughing.

"Hearing the title Prince all the time drives you nuts." I say laughing.

"Good you remembered." He says smiling at me.

"Now tell me about this girl!" I say curling up on the couch.

"I gotta hear this!" Shyanne says sitting in the single seater in my room. Liam laughs at our reactions and sits back.

"She is wonderful. She has gorgeous curly brown hair and beautiful brown eyes. Her laugh is just the cutest thing and I can never stop smiling when I am with her. She makes me feel like a normal guy, she is always reminding me that just because I am a prince doesn't mean I am any better than the next guy." He says smiling.

"She sounds amazing." I say smiling back at him.

"Yea I really miss her. I am dissappointed that I will never be able to call her mine all because of the fact that I am a prince." He says starting to frown.

"Don't worry Liam! You two will find some way to be together." Shyanne says smiling gently at him.

"Thanks Shyanne. And don't worry about the King and Queen. I will keep your secret." He says smiling at us before walking out of the room.

"And now you see why this decision is going to be hard." I tell Shyanne before walking into my room and flopping down onto my bed.

"Well now you only have four princes to choose from. And maybe you can find a way to help Liam and his girl." She says standing in my door way.

"You have a point but that really doesn't mean the decision will be that much easier." I say sitting up to look at her.

"Touche, now go to sleep you have another long day tomorrow." She says smiling before walking out of my room. I walk into my closet and grab my pajamas and change before climbing into my large bed and cuddling into my warm blankets and falling into a deep sleep.
