"DAD!" I ran over there and grabbed him by his shirt collar and yanked him up off the couch. Jane scurried away closer to the kitchen, whimpering. I punched dad in the face no longer caring about his age. He hit me once in the face with surprising force and I loosened my grip and staggered back. He made a beeline for upstairs, wanting to get away before it got worse. I walked over to my Jane and pulled her into a tight hug. I asked Jane if she was OK.

"Honey I'm OK but your cheek is swelling and bruising." She ran her hand lightly over my right cheek and I winced. She frowned. "We should head home." I looked at mom and smiled, told her to stay inside, and walked out. We walked home and I stripped down to nothing and crawled into bed. I wasn't hungry and was too lazy to put on pajama pants. Jane joined me as I was almost asleep and I reached over and stroked her side. She snuggled close to me draping her arm across my stomach and we fell asleep.

I woke up the next morning and her fingers were just barely touching it and I panicked. I looked at her to find that she was awake and smiling. I grinned slowly and rolled on top of her careful to support my own weight. I kissed her and she grinned at me.

When we finished, she fell asleep smiling. I walked into the kitchen and saw it was only 7am. I brewed a pot of coffee and toasted a bagel. I poured myself a cup of coffee and checked my phone. I saw that mom had messaged me. The message read: "I'm so sorry about your father. He didn't mean it I'm sure. I looked out the window this morning and saw myself. I thought it was a reflection till I remembered what you said. She didn't see me so it's OK."

I shivered and frowned and wondered what I would do with mom. I checked on the clone updates and saw that they were getting smarter. Some clones were able to sniff out the original. There was already three hundred dead. I started looking up the best ways to stay safe. I walked to the living room and sat down. I ate and continued my research.

At about nine Jane woke up and walked up to the back of the couch. She leaned over and kissed my neck. I smiled at her barely suppressing a shiver.

"How was your sleep sweetie?" she smiled and made an OK sign. She wandered into the kitchen and that's when I realized she was wearing nothing more than my hoodie. I blushed slightly and chuckled as I got up to follow her into the kitchen. I pinched her bottom playfully and she squeaked. I chuckled again and she kissed me. She tasted of coffee and sugar. I grinned and she went off to get dressed. I followed her, sat on the edge of the bed, and watched her, smiling. She pulled off the hoodie.

"Enjoying the show my love?" she raised an eyebrow and I reached out to stroke her bare side. She shivered and then growled. "Stop teasing!" I chuckled and went back to sitting and watching. She picked out a nice dress and I started talking about plans I had for today.

"I'd like to go to the store and buy mom some new shampoo and such so she smells different to throw off the clones. Maybe we should get lunch too?" she nodded at that "We need more dish soap and you Missy need razors so you stop stealing mine." She giggled. "I need body wash and I believe we are out of snacks." I grabbed a piece of paper and wrote it down.

I quickly noticed as we went out and about that a lot of houses were empty and abandoned. I saw a few dead people and knew the clones were striking. I looked up the clones again and saw that they had cloned themselves making even more. I called my mom and she answered. I let out a sigh of relief and told her I just wanted to hear her voice and hung up.

Abouthalfway to the store Jane and I heard a scream from an abandoned house rightacross the street. We both froze and we listened very carefully as we turnedtoward the house. A clone came stumbling out and headed towards us.
