"Son, can I stay or must I go?" I shook my head and told him to stay. He smiled and thanked me then went to get us something to snack on. He brought back crackers, cheese, ham, and salami. I sat down in a chair and so of course Jane sat on my lap. I chuckled and mom smiled and sat on the couch with dad. We ate in peace and chatted, if you didn't know better you would think we were a happy completely functional family.

About three hours later we headed home. No one was out walking around but I did spot some clones. They walk with a limp which is bad news for anyone with a limp. When we got home I kissed Jane and thanked her again for buying the presents.

"Not a big deal. I only knew because I put a reminder in my phone about three months ago when you told me her birthday. If I hadn't we would've been screwed this morning." I kissed her and smiled.

"This is why I need you. Typically, I'd just wake up, see the date, and cook her breakfast. Then I'd proceed to clean the house. Dad never bothered to do more than give her a kiss. I was actually weirded out by his behavior today. He didn't even bother to look at you wrong." I pondered what this could mean as I headed towards the kitchen for water. After I got my water I started to look around for dinner ideas. It was only three but I was hungry. Jane joined me in the kitchen and watched as I searched for stuff.

"What are you doing Hun?" I walked over to her and nibbled her shoulder as a response and she giggled. She reached into the fridge and threw a peach at me. I caught it and took a bite.

"Thanks babe." I smiled and took the peach into the living room where I proceeded to sit on the couch. Jane disappeared into the bedroom for a few minutes. When she emerged she was back into my hoodie and her pants were gone again. I chuckled and she came over, laid her head in my lap, and covered her legs with the blanket that was draped across the back of the couch. She had fallen asleep by the time I finished the peach which was surprising since it didn't take me long. I got up, careful to not disturb her, and threw away the pit of the peach. I returned to the couch, picked her up so I could lay down, then put her on me. I fell asleep shortly after.

When we woke it was almost seven pm. We had pasta for dinner, then hopped into the shower together. After the shower we climbed into bed but I wasn't ready for sleep just yet. Jane shifted so I was spooning her. I took advantage of this and moved her hair out of the way and kissed her neck. She shivered and pressed herself back against me. That was all I needed, I shifted so I was on top of her and kissed her. She grinned at me and slipped her tongue into my mouth when I kissed her this time. I groaned and wrapped my arms around her, pressing her body against mine, as I opened my mouth to allow her tongue in.

I woke up to Jane humming as she cleaned. It was weird to not have to be up at 5am and getting ready for work on a Thursday. I mean it was nice to not wake up till 8 am, but weird. I rolled out of bed, found some clothes, and went to the restroom. After that I headed towards the kitchen for water. On the way I stopped and kissed Jane and she smiled. I got my water and picked up an apple off the counter. I ate the apple then joined her in cleaning.

Three hours later everything had been cleaned properly. I went and laid on the bed as Jane went through her clothing. I never realized just how much clothing she had till now. I heard a knock on the door and went to answer it, instructing Jane to stay put. I opened the door to my mother but something was wrong with her face, she seemed to have no emotion. I quickly realized that it was a clone and shoved it back. I slammed the door and called mom.

"Hello Jack, is everything OK?" mom sounded a little worried. I'm sure my heavy breathing didn't help at all. I took a few deep, calming breaths.

"Mom whatever you do, don't answer your door. I just did and a clone of you was at my doorstep. If this gets much worse, I'll probably pack Jane up and return back to the house." I hated that I would have to resort to that. I prayed I wouldn't because I was afraid I'd never get out alive. I told Jane what my plot was if it got any worse and she seemed OK with it. Her only concern was my father.
