"I'll buy a door knob that actually locks so you won't have to worry. I won't leave you alone in the room if you're sleeping OK sweetie?" she nodded and seemed reassured. I heard a knock again a few minutes later and I crept toward the door carefully. I looked through the peephole and what a saw terrified me. There was a man, his face half ripped off and he was missing a leg, blood gushing from the wound. He didn't seem to notice which is what worried me. The closer I looked I realized he look like my boss. I gasped and went to open the door, only stopping after I turned the door knob half-way. I was unsure if he had been cloned or not. I decided to call him.

The phone rang and rang and rang, finally he picked up just before it went to voice mail. Apparently he was still asleep at 12 in the afternoon. He sounded grumpy when he picked up the phone.

"What in the bloody hell are you going calling me so early?" he grumbled. I apologized frantically and hung up. I locked the door when I saw a few more clones limping up my driveway. I went out back and found some boards. I started boarding up our windows like we're in the zombie apocalypse. I chuckled to myself and thought about how fitting it was.

Jane and I ate dinner earlier than usual and went to bed by seven. I dreamt that Jane had been taken by a clone of my father. I chased my dad through a maze made out of the remains of a mansion. Every time I thought I was getting close they seemed to teleport further away. I ran and ran and ran but I felt like every step I took was a step in the wrong direction. I finally caught up to my father but Jane was nowhere to be seen. I looked all around and then I saw her. She had been impaled on a steel pole.

I sat upright, a scream being ripped from my lungs, Jane was dead. I was drenched in sweat and on the verge of tears when finally, my mind caught up with reality. Jane was alive and staring at me with big worried eyes. I reached out and pulled her into my lap, holding onto her so tightly she whimpered. I ignored the whimper for a minute then loosened my grip. I laid down but didn't let her go. She snuggled into me and drifted off to sleep while I stayed up to guard her. I jumped at every little sound and worried about every little shadow. I fell asleep at some point, when I woke in the morning Jane was in the shower. I got up and went to join her.

"What was your dream about last night Hun?" Jane asked as soon as I stepped into the shower. I told her. She shuddered a little bit when I told her how she had died at the hands of a clone of my father. I hugged her, enjoying the touch of her soft bare skin against mine. She felt warm and that helped to remind me that it was really just a dream.

After we got out of the shower I slipped on some pants then went to see what we had in the way of food. I found some eggs and some bread. I pulled out the toaster and got out a pan I cracked four eggs into the pan and started to scramble them. When they were almost done I started making the toast. I put two pieces of toast onto and divided the eggs as equally as possible then sprinkled some cheese on top. I got two glasses out of the cupboard and filled one with milk and the other with orange juice. I set them on the table then called for Jane.

"This looks tasty, thank you my love." Jane sat down and I heard her stomach growl, I chuckled and sat down as well. We ate and talked a little, when we were done Jane washed up the dishes and I put them away. It was a pretty chill day, we mainly sat around and watched T.V. all day. Jane fell asleep in my lap and looked so cute that I just fell asleep right there on the couch.

A little over two months went by and nothing of any major importance happened. If anything life got better, the sun was shining and there wasn't a bunch of clouds creating a gloomy atmosphere. We saw less and less clones when we actually ventured out of the house. One downfall to that was work started back up. I got a text from my boss informing me that work would be starting on October 7 which was two days away. Jane and I managed to get back on schedule.

When my alarm shrieked at 5am telling me to get up I reached out and smacked it across the room. Jane groaned and rolled out of bed going to get dressed. I stayed in bed for a bit longer, picking up my phone. I opened my messages with my boss and requested the 22nd and 23rd off, explaining that is was Jane's birthday. She already had those days off due to an earlier agreement between my boss and Jane. I rolled out of bed and pulled on my clothing that I had laid out the previous night then went and brushed my teeth. I located the car keys and hollered at Jane to hurry up then headed out to the car.

So guys I've ran out of prewritten stuff meaning my updates may become shorter or more spaced out.
