------------------Harry now had both Lavender and Hermione clinging to his side, not to mention Malfoy, who was constantly trying to gain some of Harry's attention, and even more of his alone time.
Though Harry was beginning to feel like Missus Weasley with all of the people that he had to take care of, Harry couldn't drop a single one of them. And it wasn't horrible, having Hermione join him and Lavender. She refused to even set foot into Harry's room - for fear of seeing Ronald - so there was that.
And strangely enough, through all of it, Ron didn't seem to be too much effected by the breakup, which only angered Hermione more. If anything, he was even seemingly happier now that his every move wasn't being criticized. Harry admired Ron for that fact, but wished that he had the same freedom.
His entire friend-group had started to accept Malfoy as one of their own as if it wasn't something ridiculous and unheard of. He started sitting with them on the days when Lavender sat by Ernie and his friends instead of by Harry's lot.
As for how Malfoy was acting, well, that was an entirely different discussion.
Harry felt as if he was going crazy with a Malfoy by his side who portrayed himself as someone that hadn't hurt Harry in the past. It was almost as if the man had forgotten who he was and what he was doing. Harry wondered if Malfoy genuinely liked him, or if he was just really good at pretending.
He shamed himself for wishing that it be the former.
In the mornings, Malfoy liked to wait around in the common room for Harry and Lavender to exit their dormitory. They usually brought Hermione with them now, and together the four, all in their own little worlds, would descend from the third floor and down towards the Great Hall for breakfast.
Malfoy also seemed to enjoy forming some sort of contact with Harry a lot of the time. Whether it was walking close enough so that their hands brushed, or full on contact - via holding hands, an arm slung over a shoulder, shoulders touching as they sat, et cetera - Malfoy couldn't seem to get enough. He liked to hug as well, which was something that Harry wasn't entirely certain he had expected, considering what he already knew of Malfoy.

"Draco?"
"Yes, sweet cheeks?"
Harry inhaled lightly, attempting to get his words out in a way that would make him feel like less of an idiot and more of an intellectual.
"We- uh, we don't really touch each other much."
Fucking idiot. He had fucked it up, surely.
"Pardon?"
"I'm not saying that you don't give me enough attention, but I'm just, uh, curious as to why you won't even hold my hand," Harry aimed to retract his previous statement and replace it with a new one, but Draco still looked slightly confused.
"I hold your hand all the time."
"I mean in the corridors. Why won't you hold my hand in the corridors?"
Draco sighed, giving Harry a sad smile. "Because we agreed to keep this a secret, Harry. We can't have people knowing that we're together."
