King Potts is the ruler of all trolls, in ages past trolls thought that elves were only good for eating, but times have changed for the most part and most trolls will tolerate elves. Times have changed so much that King Potts recently met with King Gauldarn, King of the elves, and formed a mutual bond of trust, respect, and support.
Unfortunately, Prince Charred, the only son of King Potts has not softened his view of elves, and feels that elves are only good for eating. That being said, he sent some assassins to kill his father before he reached King Gauldarn. (Assassins are typically bats, but they are also tax collectors, and any job that takes things from others.) There is one good bat, Bannon, who tried to kill an elf but the blood he took has transformed him.
Because Prince Charred's sister, Princess Tea, helped the elf that cured King Potts and helped him on his quest, Charred has placed a bounty on his father King Potts, his sister, Leaf (the elf that cured King Potts), and Bannon for going to warn his father that war was coming.
You need to understand that trolls are a dark flat (not shiny) green, as well as: stout, strong, extremely hairy, and covered in warts. Because of Tea's lengthy help with Leaf she has slowly lost her body hair and almost all of her warts. She has the coloring, body, stoutness, and strength of a troll but that's it.
