"But this button makes it sound ridiculous. Please do it, for me." I said as I tried to press a button.

Kelly tightly held my arms so I couldn't move anymore and started laughing.

"I love you, but we need to focus right now. Demi's EP is about to be finished. No playing around." She said as she looked me in the eyes with a frown.

I sighed and held up my arms as I walked up to the couch Demi was sitting on too. She put her hand on my arm.

"It's okay Layla. The kid in you sometimes needs to play. We know that. We accept that." She sarcastically said.

I laughed and slapped her arm. She stood up and went to stand next to Kelly. They started discussing something about one of Demi's new songs and I immediately was bored again. It was around 11PM and the song with the Jonas Brothers was about to be finished today, but not until an hour later. With a sigh I stood up.

"Who else wants coffee?" I asked.

"Me." Kelly said.

"Yeah, me too." Demi said.

I walked up to the coffee machine in the corner of Kelly's studio and grabbed three cups out of the cupboard next to it. I put them under the machine and saw how it immediately poured coffee into the cup. As I was focused on the dark brown beverage coming out of the machine, someone ran inside of the studio. Startled I looked up, almost pushing the cups on the floor.

"Demi, sweety!" I heard.

I turned around with big eyes.

"Lauren?" Demi and I both asked in unison.

Lauren stood there in the middle of the studio, looking around with a proud smile.

"Yup! I came back early because.." She started.

She walked up to Demi and put her arms around her neck.

"Because I missed my baby so much." She said and leaned in for a kiss.

Demi kissed her back with a somewhat confused expression on her face. You could clearly see she didn't see this coming at all and wasn't exactly ready either.

"Have you missed me too?" Lauren asked her.

Demi smiled and nodded.

"Uh.. Y-yes. Ofcourse I missed you.." She said.

I sighed and turned around to grab the coffee. I gave one to Kelly who thanked me and then gave one to Demi who grabbed it followed by a quick nod and smile.

"You don't sound too convincing. You didn't miss me at all, did you?" Lauren asked, with a now angry tone in her voice.

Demi's eyes widened.

"No, no, Lauren. I really really missed you. You know that." She immediately said as she awkwardly grabbed Lauren's hand.

Lauren huffed out a laugh.

"I'm just kidding, babygirl." She said.

I sighed and rolled my eyes as I walked up to the couch to sit down. I wanted to take a sip from my coffee when Lauren jumped on the couch next to me.

"So! Layla Ahkari. How are things in your life?" She asked with noticeable fake enthusiasm.

Demi looked at me from behind Lauren with an annoyed expression on her face. I nodded to make sure she knew I was just as annoyed.

"Things uh.. Things are good, thanks for asking." I said.

Lauren smiled and slapped my arm. Then she stood up. I looked at my arm slowly turning red. That was unnecessarily hard.
