We've flown for a couple days now. Two days ago we met an earth bender kid who got arrested for being a bender. Katara got herself arrested pretending to be an earth bender so she could save him. We ended up freeing the entire prison and then we left. It was kinda boring. Sokka, Aang, and I didn't get to do a whole lot, but Katara got some character development, so that's fun.

Right now I'm sitting next to Sokka and meditating. Aang is sitting up front and Katara's looking over Appa's saddle, staring at the clouds.

"the clouds look so soft... like if we were to jump down, we'd land on a huge cottony heap." She sighs dreamily.
"Why don't you try it then." Says Sokka mockingly.
"Sokka, you're not funny." Ok that was a lie.
"What?! I'm the funniest person I know!"
"Ya huh." I roll my eyes.
"I'll try it!" Aang says excitedly. He jumps off of Appa and into the clouds. We all lean over the saddle to try and see, and he shoots up from them and lands in the saddle behind us.
"Turns out clouds are made of water." He giggles and air bends himself dry. Sokka looks unimpressed. Katara rolls her eyes and looks to the side.
"Hey.. what's that?" She points to the ground. We look and see that a massive patch of land has been charred.

We take Appa down to take a look at the destruction. I crouch down and take some of the soot in my hands sorrowfully. We all look around and suddenly Aang falls to his knees.
"Fire nation! Those evil savages make me sick!" I feel a pit in my stomach. "They have no respect for anything!"
"Shhh!" Katara shushes Sokka.
"What!? I'm not allowed to be angry!?" His raucous voice shouts. Katara points to Aang and Sokka quiets. I walk over to Aang and give him a hug to comfort him, which he returns gratefully.
"How could I let this happen?" He whispers.
"It's not your fault Aang. It has nothing to do with you." Katara tries to comfort.
"But it does. I'm the Avatar. I'm supposed to protect nature. But I don't know how to do my job."
"And that's why we're going to the North Pole." Katara smiles softly. "To find you a teacher."
"Ya, a water bending teacher. But there's no one who can teach me how to be the avatar."
"..Maybe there is..." I ponder. The GAang looks at me quizzically. "Well, the last avatar, avatar Roku, is in the spirit world. It's not impossible for you to get there, I've actually been there myself. Maybe we can find a way for you to get there too and talk to Avatar Roku."
"Really? Well how do we get there?"
"Well I got there through years of frequent, intense mediation." The GAng get a disheartened look on their faces, so I quickly continue. "-But I'm sure that there's some way for you to get into the spirit world and speak with him sooner."
"I don't know (y/n).... what if I can't get there in time to defeat the fire lord." Aang asks worriedly.
"I'm sure you will Aang." I assure.
Katara puts a hand on Aang's shoulder. "We'll figure it out."

We all start to do our own thing, as we're counting this as a rest stop. Sokka walks up to me and starts to speak quietly.
"Do you really think he'll be able to figure it out?" He asks.
"I think he will."I smile hopefully. "After all, it's very convenient for the plot and world building."
"What?"
"What?"
"You said something weird."
"No I didn't." I smirk and toss some dirt at him.
"Hey! You're gonna pay for that!" He yells and chucks something hard at me. It smacks me in the forehead and with an 'oof' I fall back dramatically and he comes running over.
"Oh shoot! (Y/n), are you ok?!" He asks, standing over me. I smirk and be grab a bunch of the hard things and start firing them back at him.
"Ow!" He yells, running away in terror, but still kinda laughing.

I laugh maniacally and stop. I look down and realize that what I'm throwing are acorns, I smile softly when I hear Katara say, "Hey Aang! You ready to be cheered up?" I realize that she probably found the acorns as well. I look over and see her chuck one at Aang's head.
"Ow!" I snort. "What was that for? That's not really cheering me up Katara." He annoyedly questions.
Sokka snorts. "Cheered me up." I throw another one at him. "Ow!.. Yea, I probably deserved that."
Katara rolls her eyes and begins, "There are acorns everywhere Aang. And every one of them will grow to be a tall oak one day and all the animals that lived here will return!" She places an acorn in his hand. Aang smiles at her.
"Thanks Katara."
