We're standing in the forest, bored out of our minds. Waiting to leave. I'm staring at the ground in my own little world, just thinking of random things.
"Where's Momo?" I hear Aang ask. I hear a gasp. "Hang on Momo!"
I look up and see him flying up to a trap hanging from the trees. He opens it and the lemur flies out.
I hear other animals make noise. "Alright, you too"
Sokka groans. "This is gonna take forever." He launches his boomerang and it slices the rope holding up the traps, releasing the animals. I give him a disapproving look.
"What?"The two hog monkeys that were trapped run off. Sokka examines the fallen traps.
"Fire Nation. We better pack up and get moving."Katara, Aang and I start packing our things into Appa's saddle when Sokka starts.
"No no no. No flying this time."
"What? Why wouldn't we fly?" Aang asks.
"Yeah, Sokka, that's a stupid idea. No offence, but offence." I say.
"Well think about it. We're always getting found by the emo. It's because of Appa. He's just too noticeable."
I gasp dramatically, hugging Appa. "Sokka! How dare you blame this on our furry baby?!"
He rolls his eyes. "My instincts tell me we should walk, so we're walking."We've been walking for about two hours. I'm sweating, and dying. It's terrible. Everyone hates it. Sokka and Katara have been bickering about it the entire time.
"Wait a minute.. why are we listening to Sokka again?" I ask.
"Because I'm the oldest, that means I'm in charge." He answers.
"How do you know? I've never told you my age. For all you know I could be a lot older than you. I'm not, I'm 16. But yeah. Anyways, you get the point. Don't assume."
"Wait, that means you're older than Sokka." Says Katara.
"Wait really? HAHA SUCK IT SOKKA I'm the oldest and I say we fly-" I'm cut off as we walk into a fire nation camp. "Well shit."The soldiers all look at us and their faces turn to a scowl.
"RUN!" Sokka shouts. We turn around only to be blocked off by another burly soldier. "We're cut off!"The soldiers start attacking.
"Sokka! Your shirt!" Aang shouts, pointing at Sokka's flaming shirt. Sokka is screaming as Katara puts it out with water. I'm throwing knives left and right. There's a lot of soldiers, so I only manage to pin two before Sokka tries to swindle the soldiers.
"If you let us pass, we promise not to hurt you." He tries to say calmly.
"What are you doing?" Katara whispers to him.
"Bluffing?"
"You promise not to hurt us?" A man asks. Laughter breaks out among the soldiers before the one who started it abruptly falls to the ground. I quirk my brow in confusion.
"Wow. Nice job Sokka!" Aang praises. "How'd you do that?"
"Uhh.. Instinct?" I'm not given time to react before Katara points up to the sky.
"Look!"
Everyone including the soldiers look up to see a guy with weird eyebrows holding two hook swords standing in a tree. My heart stops for a moment and my eyes widen. Is that..?The guy jumps down from the tree and proceeds to take down two soldiers and attack the others.
"Uhh, Sokka?" I ask as I lean over to him. "What forest are we in?"
He raises his brow in suspicion. "The Red Forest. Why?"
"Oh, no reason." I say, tensing up. That's Jet. My brows furrow. I start rapidly throwing my knives in frustration. I should have known. I cause a few to be out of commission, and cause two others to flee while the rest are being taken care of by everyone else.Everything calms as Jet's team ties up their prisoners and the ones who left are gone. Aang, Sokka, Katara, and I walk over to Jet.
"Woah! You just took out a whole army almost single handed." Aang praises. I look over at him with a death stare. What did this overrated cabbage just say?
"Army? There were only like, twenty guys. And (y/n) took down a good portion of them." Yea Sokka! I nod in approval. Always got my back.
"Yeah, he's right. (Y/n) did help a lot." I glare at Jet, irritated. He turns to me with a smile, faking decency. "You were amazing (y/n)-"
I cut him off. "Don't speak to me mortal." I turn and walk off to Appa.
