The Golden Snitch

The next Monday came by very fast, Lily could hardly wait, the Quidditch tryouts were today at 5:00.

Lily got ready and headed down into the common room to meet up with Hugo. They ate breakfast and then headed to Defence Against The Dark Arts ( DADA).

The DADA Professer, Pr.Tinsle was very unusual latley, she was very stressed and impatient. Pr.Tinsle was a Tall lady in her late 40s with curly black hair that fell to her shoulders and a long nose.

The 3rd years were learning about boggarts. Lily had never 'seen' a boggart before.

'Alright class as you all know, a Boggart is a magical creature that hides in small spaces. If seen it turns into the seer's worst fear,so i want you to practice imagining your worst fear as something 'funny' for next weeks class when we practice dealing with one.You may be dissmised.' She finished rather impatiently.

While Lily and Hugo walked, Lily was thinking about what her biggest fear was. She really didnt know, it used to be ghosts but then she came to Hogwarts were many ghost roam freely in and around the castle. Ghost were all she could think of, but then again she got over that fear years ago.She would just have to wait and see.

Later that day Quidditch tryouts were about to begin at 5:00. Lily was extcited and Hugo was nervous.

' I'm  sure you'll do great, and anyways nobody will remember the song they sang at your father, that was more than 20 years ago!' Lily told a nervous Hugo.

Once they got there Lily and Hugo stood there in the middle of the Quidditch pitch in front of the new captain, Daisy Jones, A popular 6th year with bright green eyes and long blonde hair. She was very friendly but a bit tough when it came to Quidditch.   

'Alright everyone,' Daisy yelled over everyone. ' First off we're  gonna start of with keepers, so anyone trying out for keeper stand here.' Daisy pointed. 'Everyone else go wait in the stands.' Finished Daisy.

Hugo walked over to the spot Daisy was pointing at, while Lily went over to the stands. Lily caught Hugos eye and gave him a thumbs up, Hugo gave her a weak smile in return.  

There wasn't many peole trying out for keeper. Only three others, a 3rd year girl, a 4th year boy, and a 6th year girl. Lily studied them all. The 3rd year girl was a bit tiny, the 4tg year boy wasn't  holding on to his broom correctly, but the 7th year girl looked as though she could carry all three goal posts at once.She looked very strong.

Lily became a bit worried.

What if the 7th year got choosen? Then she would be on the team without Hugo! Wait what if there was someone else who would become seeker! Lily was biw having many nervouse thoughts.Her thoughts were inturrupted by Roses voice calling her over all the clapping and shouts of encuragement.'Look, Hugo's going up!'

Lily looked up at him, he was near the goal post.

'Wait what were the other scores?' Lily asked Rose and Albus. 'The 3rd year got 4/10 and the 4th year got 6/10 and the 7th year got 8/10.' Answerd Albus.

Lily was a bit nervous. She really wanted Hugo to become keeper.

Lily looked up, Daisy threw a quaffle at him, he caught it!  Lily Albus and Rose clapped and cheered.

Daisy threw another one at him, he caught it again! Lily, Albus, and Rose cheered again.

Hugo caught 4 more quaffles. They all cheered, louder each time. But on Hugo's sixth turn he missed. Lily was getting a bit nervouse, but then Hugo caught 2 more. He did it he caught 9/10! Lily, Albus, and Rose were now running to the Quidditch pitch, clapping and cheering, and congratulating Hugo. Lily was really happy for him. Lily always knew Hugo was a good keeper. They would always play games of quidditch over the summer and the winning team always had Hugo as there keeper.

' Alright,' Started Daisy. 'Now I'm  going to do the tryouts for seeker.' She yelled over all the noise. Lily felt her stomach do a backflip. 'Okay all Gryfindors trying out for seeker please go up in the air, and i will release the snitch at a random time, who ever catches it first is the new Gryfindor seeker.' Finished Daisy.

And with that, Lily mounted herself on her broom and zoomed up

in the air. The wind was blowing in hee hair, she felt the amazing feeling of flying. Lily now wanted

to become seeker more than anything, she would be able to fly during practice and during games. Games. Thought Lily. She would be playing against  Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Lily then relised sonthing while she was in the air looking for the golden glint of the snitch. She would be playing against Malfoy, Malfoy was the Slytherin seeker. Now Lily wanted to be seeker even more, she wanted to see the look on Malfoys stupid troll face when she beat him at Quidditch. Lily had heard Malfoy was pretty good but she didn't  believe it, the only thing she thought Malfoy was good at was being a dung faced troll.

Lily scanned the pitch for the snitch, and then  scanned the stands for Malfoy. She found him near the top with some other stuck up Slytherins and the Scamander twins.He was glaring her way. She could see his white blonde hair glinting like gold from the sun.

'Wait a second...' Lily wisperd to her self. That wasnt Malfoys hair glinting gold, it was the snitch. It was hovering over Malfoys head.

Lily skimmed through the air, zooming towards Malfoy. Another Gryfindor student trying out for seeker saw it too, and was zooming behind Lily aslo determined to catch the snitch. Lily pushed forward, leaving the other seeker far behind.She was now 2 meters away from the snitch and Malfoys stupid head.

'Just a little further...' Lily mumerd to herself.

And then it happend. She caught the snitch, but, she also crashed into malfoy, her head collided with his nose.

Lily swooped up on her broom and flew back down to the pitch holding the snitch in her hand, not giving a care in the world about Malfoy wimpering petheticly in pain.Lily had herarms waving in the air with triumph.

Lily looked into the stands, she found Malfoy cluching a bloody nose. Lily laughed to her self. She never felt more happy in her life, nothing could ruin that moment- but somthing did. 

Pr. McGonagall was stomping her way through the Quidditch pitch, her face flushed.

Lily's stomach dropped, she had forggot. She had detention with Malfoy at seven o'clock. She felt so stupid. How could forget!

Pr.McGonagall was now facing Lily. 'Lily Luna Potter I have never been so disapointed in my LIFE, you and Scorpius were supposed to meet me at the Great Hall at 7:00 for your derrntion, it is now 7:48! You and Scorpius will serve yet another weeks worth of detention! I will go speak to Mr.Malfoy, I want to see you standing outside my office waiting, NOW!' Bellowed Pr.McGonagall, and turned towards the direction where Malfoy was. Lily ran up to daisy, her face red with embaresment. 'so im seeker?' she asked daisy nervously.

' You did break Scorpius's nose, but you also did catch  the snitch so yes your seeker. Practice is every tuesday and thursday at 5:00 to 6:30.' Replied Daisy.

Lily then ran back to the castle to "serve" her derention.

Now what. Lily thought a bit nervously.
