Chapter 1

DUKE'S POV:

How beautiful she is, every time I see her she looks flawless just like the way she used to 4 years ago. She isn't changed much but, her deep blue eyes now lack warmth, her mouth which used to chatter all day long now just give some cold replies, those soft hands of her now hold a gun,her kind heart is replaced by a ruthless one.
I will try to fix her broken heart, I will do everything in my hands to make her happy once again but... 

Will she accept me? After all of this, will she love me back.

You are mine Vanessa now that you are back I will make you mine.

"Do you plan to stare out from the window for the whole day?" It looks like there's something in her mind but what..

"Sorry I didn't knew you are here, so what made a busy person like you come all the way here?" She answers with a smile.
"I came here for you, It's already been 5 days since you arrived and you are just sitting at home,"
"I was just settling everything down"
"Oh, so what you are gonna do next?"
"Business will start from tomorrow"
"Good, tell me if you need my help."
"Yes, obviously Duke".

VANESSA'S POV:

Duke, a childhood friend of mine was always such a winsome person. I never thought that he would end up in this dark world, but again I never thought that I would end up here too.

Being the only child of the Ruth family I was never allowed to make friends from outside world, I only had two buddies Duke and Zain. They were the one's who supported me through my ups and downs, made me laugh and were always there for me. When I came to know about my father's dark world, Zain told me that he will never ever leave me alone, he will definitely help me to leave this black world to a safe place away from all this, where we will live peacefully but everything was just a lie, a trap of words, from the one who I have never expected will deceive me...

"Hey princess, are you listening to me or are you dreaming about your prince charming with your eyes open?" 

"I was just recalling our past and how everything changed in such a short time." I don't know what happened while I was in France and after I came back I saw the only one whom I can trust here, also became a part of this dark world.

"Aww, don't worry I'm still the same for you, do you even know how much I missed you, you worried me to death,"

"Lets not talk about that Duke, so tell me do you have a girlfriend?"

"I don't, I don't want anyone else other than you princess" and then I smacked his head.

"OUCH, why did you?"
"Talk crap, get slapped" I replied with a chuckle.

"But you smacked me"
"Stop crying now will you" 

"How can you smack your childhood buddy"
"Just like I did right now want a demo again" 

"No, no please it was enough," And then we both started laughing.

When Duke left, It was already past 8 so I took a shower and went down for dinner. Lucy had already served my dinner and Dean my right hand man was waiting there for me to talk about some business. After that I went up again.

Tomorrow is indeed a big day for me, after all he is gonna see me after 4 years.

 I want to see the expression on his face when he will come to know that I'm not dead.
