my heart sank when i looked at the blue eyed nightmare sitting in the desk. he didnt even care enough to notice i am standing inside the room.
" i see, you have already met swetha" ms.rose glared at me "i am sorry if she has come across to you like that. but she is one of the our own and certainly not crazy."
He looked up from the documents and noticed me. His eyes narrow slightly, his head tilts slightly as he looks me up and down before turning to the heap of dust. " i am gonna taking your word for it " he sharp eyes bore into mine. " ms. swetha? is it? " His eyes, smoldering. this man can certainly intimidate the shit out of anyone.
" ye- yes mr.akil. " i said " i am sorry about morning. it certainly wont happen again. i thought mr. rajkumar was -" confusion clear in my voice. ms. radhai gave me a warning look and slightly shook her head.
" well, you thought wrong ms.swetha. my dad passed away and i am the chairman. so, you will be working for me. " i am pretty sure i saw his eyes sadden for a second at the mention of his dad.
" I- I'm sorry" I stamered. he stood up and smiled at me before extending his hand
" welcome to empire groups" i took his extended hand and smiled
" thank you, mr.akil. i will do my best." he gave me a firm nod and picked up his tennis kit
" where are you leaving. honey? you have two meeting scheduled today!" ms.radhai said.
" but i don't work on mondays " he said as his lips slowly broke into a grin
" what??? from when?" ms. radhai asked
" from today " he said grinning and pointed to me " which leaves you a lot of work . so, get right onto it" i gave him a nod.
he was almost out of the office when he turned around and looked at me. "clean this mess that you - "
" on it! " i cut him off before ms.rose could hear more about my stupid act and gave him a double thumps up. yup! you read it right. double thumbs up. who even does it these days. so much for first impressions.
he gave a weird look at my thumps up and looked at me through his lashes and smiled before leaving the room.
oh god! his eyes.
" i am gonna save you the embarrassment. dont tell me what happened! just don't make me regret this " ms.rose gave me a warning look.
" ofcourse.. yeah. ma'am" i smiled. and she nodded before she typed few numbers in the intercom and asked someone named vidya to come in to the raj's office.
" raj's office?" i asked
" well, its been months but this office still remains his " indeed it is. All the medals , the pictures, and the nameboard hasn't changed at all.
" Yeah " the name card still reads mr.rajkumar.
" 'morning vidya , meet swetha." She turned to a pale eyed women " she is the P.A, i was talking about. get her started up." mrs.vidya gave me a very comforting smile and led me out.
" swetha" i turned around to ms.rose's voice. " you will never ever mention raj around akil. okay?" her tone was more sad than serious. i nodded.
mrs. vidya politely guided me with all the tasks i have to do as a P.A., took me around the building, explained me the office systems and how they work. and all the key matters that i will be dealing with in business which took all day. thankfully, all my important tasks will be monitored since i am a student. it was very boring but the lunch in the canteen was amazing, so i felt compensated. why can't they provide the same lunch at school too, instead of those crappy meals
