Interview With the Grandparents

Lada went back to the dinner table, she looks flushed which is not like her. She's usually cool and collected and always cold. Evidently, Achilles' grandparents love her, which is not like them at all, lahat ng na link na babae sa kanya ay ayaw nila, even the prim and proper na si Saddie. But for some reason they like Lada, they were also charmed and bewitched by her. I just hope kaya niyang tumagal sa interview ng kanyang abuelo at abuela.

"Are you feeling better now, Nipotina?" It was Achi's grandfather that asked.

"Yes, I am feeling better." She answered but she feels na hindi pa sila tapos sa paglalagay sa kanya sa hotseat.

"Call me nonno, apo. Hindi naman magtatagal at magiging asawa ka na into ni Achilles. Hindi ba nipote?"

"Nonno, she might run away from me if you keep saying things like that." Achilles was smiling from ear to ear.

"So you do like her, noh?" It's nonna.

"She's Axel's girl, nonna."

"Apo, and asawa nga ay naaagaw, yun pa kayang kasintahan?" Mapilit talaga si nonna.

"Iha, ikaw ba ay gusto mo din itong apo namin? Bukod sa Guapo ay mabait to, maalalahanin at mapagpasensya."

"If I were you, Achilles, get her pregnant agad, para naman may apo na din kami dito, small Achilles. Oh, how I wish to go back to the days when you were young."

For the nth time that day, inihit ng ubo si Lada dahil sa mga sinasabi ng lolo at lola ni Achilles. Hindi na niya nagawang kumain ng maayos. Tinigilan na din niya ang pag inom ng tubig baka mabilaukan na naman siya.

Bet na bet ka ni lolo at lola, at alam mo na san nagmana ng pagiging persistent si Moratti.

Ang lakas naman ng tawa ni Achilles, he enjoys seeing her being uncomfortable sa mga nangyayari.

His eyes full of love, parang teenager pa din sila kung magtitigan. Oh my, I wonder how it feels like to experience a love like that sa isip ni Lada.

"Tesoro, you are so naughty. Alam mo ba iha paano ako napasagot nitong lolo ninyo?" Ang tanong ni lola na mukhang hindi naman nag aantay ng sagot.

"I have a boyfriend that time, we were actually engaged to be married, I know I love him because I feel safe with him, but no hammering heartbeat, no butterflies in my stomach but i feel safe and secure when Simon is around. One night, one of my friends asked me to go out, since I'll be getting married in a month I accepted the offer, I know that I won't be able to go out and dance when I get tied to Simon. That's the fist time I saw your nonno. Right when I entered the room, he has his eyes on me, I felt awkward but I also felt my heart skip a beat, I am giddy and excited and scared at the same time. Pero siyempre hindi ko ipinahalata sa kanya iyon." Nonna looked dreamy while remiscing the past, tila ba kahapon lamang nangyari ang lahat.

"Simon, like lolo Simon, your brother, Nonno?! Lolo Simon, Axel's grandfather?!" Achilles asked unbelievingly.

Umilap ang mata ni lolo but he answered his grandson anyway.

"Yes, apo. Your lolo Simon, my brother was the one betrothed to your nonna.
