Catra's POV
I get to school before most people do. I just can't stand being around Shadow Weaver any more than I have to. People have started arriving and I see Scorpia pull up in her truck with Lonnie in the passenger seat. Lonnie looks at me giving me a look that asks if I am okay. I nod signaling I'm fine. She must have heard what happened last night from her room. Next thing I know I'm lifted off the ground "Let me go!" I say wiggling to try and break free.
"Oh, sorry! I'm a hugger!" She puts me down. "I don't know if we have met yet. I'm Scorpia!"
Lonnie comes by quickly, "You got here early. I didn't even notice you get up this morning."
"Yeah I didn't want to wake anyone up." I say as I shrug my shoulders. Lonnie knows better than to say anything about what happened last night in front of anyone. Usually it's worse than a smack to the back of the head and she knows that.
I take my phone out to see if Adora has texted. I haven't heard from her since she dropped me off last night and I'm starting to get worried. What if it was too much and she doesn't want to be around me anymore? As if on cue I hear her motorcycle pull up into the parking lot. I get lost at the sight of her getting off the bike at taking her helmet off. A smile creeps on my face as I see her look at me.
"Hellllooooooo Earth to Catra," Lonnie waves her hand in front of my face breaking my gaze to Adora.
"Sorry Lonnie. Were you talking?"
"Girl did you really just zone me out for that long?! Did you even hear a word I said?"
"....no. Not really."
"You went on one date with her and it's like you're totally head over heels already. Anyways! I was asking you if you were going to the football game tomorrow to watch Scorpia and I play, but I think I already know the answer to that seeing as how your new girlfriend is on the starting team." Lonnie gives a smirk and playful punch to the shoulder.
"She is not my girlfriend! And it wasn't a date! We were working on a school project." I feel my face get beat red.
"Uh huh, whatever you say."
"Hey Catra! Hey Lonnie and Scorpia! You guys ready for tomorrow?" I look at see Adora. She pulls two travel mugs out of her backpack and hands one to me. "I know how much you liked the coffee yesterday and I felt bad that you weren't able to finish it thanks to me so I got you another one."
I take the cup and am at a loss for words but manage to get something out. "You didn't have to."
"I know I didn't have to silly. I wanted to!" She flashes her adorable smile and I'm overwhelmed with the feeling of warmth and safety. Butterflies start flying in my stomach as I think about the kiss last night.
"C'mon Scorpia. Let's leave these two lovebirds alone." Right as she said that the bell rings and we head off to class.
Adora's POV
The first start of the day went by fast. I was relieved when Catra took the coffee today. I didn't know to process last night and felt bad for not messaging her. I enter Latin class and take my seat eagerly waiting for Catra to appear. I want to ask her something, but it may be too soon to ask.
Right on cue Catra walks in, "Hey Adora."
"Catra! Hi!" A blush starts to form on my face. I swear the way she says my name makes my heart skip a beat. Maybe even a couple beats. "About last night, I wanted to apologize for not messaging you."
Catra looks taken aback by this. "Don't apologize Blondie. It was my fault."
"I should have at least texted you. Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. Promise." She doesn't seem like she wants to talk about it. At least not know. I won't push her. I don't want to ruin anything.
Before I get the chance to continue the conversation the teacher walks into the room and starts his lesson. I take my phone out and message Catra. I'm immediately caught by Micah and was let off with a warning. The bell rings and I get up and walk with Catra to her locker. I need to ask this now while I still have the courage to.
"Catra, can I ask you something?"
"Sure, what's up?"
I start to panic. I've never asked anyone this before. My heart feels as if it's about to beat out of my chance. "Blondie you okay?"
"Uh yeah. Absolutely!" I nervously spat out. "Catra, will you wear my jersey tomorrow?" Phew. I said it. Looking back now it seems so stupid to be worked up over this, but it means a lot to me.
"I'm sorry what?"
"Will you wear my jersey? It's this thing we do here where on game days members of the football team give away their jersey for someone to wear. Usually it's like girlfriends, boyfriends, and people that are dating." I stopped right there after realizing what I just said.
"So you want me to wear your jersey tomorrow as your girlfriend?" Catra has a flirtatious smirk on her face.
"No, not like that. I just care about you and I like you and after what happened yesterday that maybe you like me too." I can feel myself digging a hole that's just getting deeper and deeper with everything I say. "Wait. I don't mean it like I don't want you to be my girlfriend, it's just I don't want to go to fast and if thats something you don't want then—"
I'm stopped by Catra kissing me."Of course I'll wear your dumb jersey tomorrow." She kisses my cheek and shuts her locker. "You know you're really cute when you get flustered."
