Him.
A person who has a particular place in her life, yet she has no idea who he was. There was no hint or anything, yet she felt she was missing something. It was like assembling a jigsaw puzzle and discovering that she was missing just one piece. It was completely heartbreaking. What is his name? That was something she would always ask herself. She reasoned that the individual may be someone she used to play volleyball with before the injury. She was curious about who he was. The person she's been looking for since regaining consciousness, the only one who smiled at her, her person.
She's frustrated because she want to see him again. Moreover, she's frustrated at herself for letting the coma lose some of her memories. It was unfair, out of all the people she could forget, why him? The only memory of him that she had was blurry, but it was a smile. They were kids back then, he probably grew up not remembering her too. She would always blame herself for feeling the emptiness she thought that would never go away. If I didn't go into a coma before, would everything be different? A thought that casually remains in her mind throughout the years.
She is agitated because she wants to see him again. She's also angry with herself for allowing the coma to rob her of some of her memories. Why, of all the people she might forget, did it have to be him? Her sole recollection of him was hazy, but it was a smile. They were kids at the time, and he probably grew up without remembering her as well. She would constantly blame herself for the emptiness she believed would never go away. Would anything be different if I hadn't been in a coma before? A concept that has lingered in her thoughts throughout the years.
The whispers behind her back got louder as she continues to get lost in her thoughts. She figured it was Kageyama, Hinata, and Nishinoya. "Shoyo, shush! You'll wake her up!" Nishinoya said
"But she needs to go with us!" Hinata said
"Can't we just wake her up?" Kageyama asked
"I'm awake," she murmured, sitting upright as she stretched her arms. She then grabbed her bag and stood up to look at them, "Today's the practice match, right?"
They all nodded and decided to go. Kageyama and Hinata stood in front of her, while Nishinoya was beside her. She noticed the two men in front of them arguing again; she was getting used to it. "Hey," Nishinoya said, yanking on her uniform. She stared at him, but he didn't look at her. His attention was fixed on the ground.
"Yeah?"
"Who are you sitting with at the bus?" He asked
"Kiyoko-san, she was going to tell me something." She answered and he nodded, "Why did you ask?"
"No reason," He shrugged, she wanted to know the real reason why he asked that but she decided to no longer pay any attention to it.
Everyone was waiting for the four when they arrived at the gym. When they noticed that the bus was already there, they dashed towards the squad. Daichi questioned the four about their late arrival, and the three members made up explanations and reasons, without accusing the black-haired female. She had remarked to herself that it was amusing and charming. The three members were working hard to keep the girl out of trouble, but she merely laughed it off and apologized to the team for sleeping through her prior lesson. Sugawara brushed it off, saying it was fine because she'd been a tremendous assistance to the team, so it was fine. They weren't that late anyway, the senior stated.
She sat beside Kiyoko as everyone boarded the bus. The two managers were discussing prior practice matches and matches that Karasuno had taken long before the black-haired girl joined the team. Because of its defeats, the male volleyball team has been dubbed the clipped raven. The black-haired girl then noticed how dedicated the senior was to the team. Despite her lack of emotion, she could see her affection for the athletes. The whole process from going out towards the arena was a ruckus. The energy of Hinata, Tanaka, and Nishinoya was out of this world. They were so noisy that she couldn't sleep. The girl yawned, causing the senior to look at her.
