The fragrance of medicine, disinfectant, and hospital has always been something that's familiar to the girl. She spent about a year at the hospital, it wasn't a very good experience for her. She wished to remove the memories she have, memories of her inside it, memories that hurts and gives nothing else but pain, memories she want gone.
These were the things that she hoped she forgot instead of her childhood friend but destiny must have a different plan for the girl. She wasn't a fan of going to hospitals after the accident but here she is, accompanying the libero to have a check up for his ankle. One nurse at the reception gave him a wheelchair so that Nishinoya won't have to walk, and it helps the both.
"Are you sure you're not going to do anything today?" Nishinoya murmurs, almost a whisper but she heard him well
"No, I only need to do one important thing and that's it," she answered, pushing the wheelchair as she find a spot in the lounge. She hopes that the sprain was just a mild one so it will be fine after two weeks.
"Then aren't you supposed to be doing that now?" Nishinoya sighs, she looked at him and noticed that he was down and it truly is a sight that she didn't want to see. The girl hummed.
"Yeah, I'm doing it right now." She said, he looked up to her. His expression filled with confusion, "I'm taking care of you right now, aren't I? That's important."
His eyes widened at her statement but she saw him smile, "Say, are you falling for me?"
She raised an eyebrow and smirked, "Why, are you hoping for me to fall for you?" She retorted and he stopped, he couldn't find the words to reply to her question. She chuckled at the reaction of the latter. "I'm joking, Nishinoya-kun. No need to stiffen up." She said as they were called in by a nurse. "Well, it's time for your check up."
Maybe Nishinoya didn't know the answer to her question, maybe he did. No, he knows he did. He did have the answer to the question and he knows that he does want her to fall for him. He just couldn't find the courage to say it in front of her face. And she was dense, she couldn't tell if it was plainly platonic or not. It was the perfect disguise for the boy.

The check up with the doctor went well, as his instruction, Nishinoya isn't allowed to engage in any physical activity for at least two weeks. She was glad that it was just a mild sprain, at least it wasn't that serious. Although he was sad about it, he knew that it was better than not being able to play anymore. He was given a cast in order to support himself from walking but she's now outside the hospital and she was pushing his wheelchair as the atmosphere around them sent chills to her spine, it was unusually cold that day.
"[First Name]-chan~" She heard a familiar voice behind her. She stopped her tracks and looked at the owner of the voice and saw Oikawa running towards her, smiling widely while she saw his nephew behind him. She met his nephew twice, when the both were playing in the past.
"Tooru," She greeted him with a smile, "Hey, you're here." She said, looking over Nishinoya. He was looking at the newly arrived boy with a scowl on his face. He despised the boy so much for getting a lot of attention from the girls. "What are you doing here?" She asked the dark brown haired boy.
"Spending some time with this kid," He said, pointing at his nephew, "I see you just got out of the hospital. That's a rare sight."
"Well, yeah, our little libero here is injured so I need to take care of him." She said, patting Nishinoya's head. He liked the feeling of being patted, he wanted to form into a ball like a cat and purr. He loved it.
"You do know how to make a sick person feel good," Oikawa chuckled, "You used to take care of me when I was sick too."
Nishinoya thought that his comment was unnecessary. As much as he liked being around the manager right now, he hated the fact that Oikawa Tooru is here. "Hey, what's your deal with [First Name]-san?" Nishinoya blurted out, sshe and Oikawa looked at him but Nishinoya was just staring at Oikawa, "What's your relationship with her?"
"Me?" Oikawa raised an eyebrow, pointing at himself, "I'm her ex-boyfriend."
"Really? Ex-boyfriend?" Nishinoya bitterly asked, looking away. He wouldn't be surprised if what the great king said was true. She was gorgeous and he was handsome; even though he didn't want to admit it, they look good together. She saw that Nishinoya's mood changed and she figured it was because of the current atmosphere.
"Cut me some slack, Tooru." She sighed and Oikawa laughed.
"Okay, I'm not her ex-boyfriend." Oikawa said, "She's just like my little sister, shorty. I'm not going to take your girl away from you."
She saw Nishinoya turned red, "I-It's not like that-!" He stutters, looking at Oikawa while avoiding her gaze, "She's not my girl." He mumbled
"Well, I'll go ahead." Oikawa chuckled, walking towards Nishinoya and moving closer to him. He whispered something and she was just watching their interaction. She mentally cursed at Oikawa for having the habit of whispering something to others. Now, she was curious to what he said.
Nishinoya was startled when Oikawa whispered something, he was getting flustered more and more. When Oikawa stepped away, Nishinoya was looking at him, "Are you for real?" He said
Oikawa nodded and looked at the black-haired girl, giving her a mischievous smile, "I'll get going, [First Name]-chan~" He annoyingly said, winking at her as she left. "Good luck, Shorty!" He said before leaving the two alone.
"Hey, what did he say?" She asked Nishinoya and he looked at her, blushing furiously. "Why are you blushing?"
"I'm not!" Nishinoya says, his voice louder, as he looks away from her.
"You are," she said, moving in front of him, "Why are you blushing so bad?"
He gulped and looked at her eyes intently, "If you keep moving closer to me like that, I might just take it." He said
"Take what?" She raised an eyebrow
"Nothing," He said, "Take me home, I want to lay down and watch something at least." He pouted
She nodded, moving back and pushing his wheelchair, "Do you want to do anything when we get home? Movies?"
"Yeah, we can watch one." Nishinoya nodded slowly, suddenly, his eyes widened, "W-Wait, Just the two of us?"
"Why? You don't want me there?" She jokingly asked
"No, it's not like that." He answered, "It's just my first time spending time with a girl alone."
"We were alone yesterday," she scoffed, "Besides, you need to get used to it."
"Get used to you wandering around my house?" He deadpanned
"Yeah, I need to take care of our libero after all." She chuckled, "But don't take it that I'm only taking care of you as a manager, 'kay? I'm your friend now."
"So we'll watch a movie later?" He smiled at her, face full of excitement.
She slowly nodded, "Yeah, we'll watch a movie later."
