"Why are you changing our mission?"
The five agents are piled into Bosses office yet again, trying to pry information out of the old man on why their assignment was changed. Emily flips through the old files yet again, stopping on a few to take them in.
Tony and Lucy are reading over the new assignment while Rosie sits in her chair, listening to the argument between Xavier and Boss. The security guy kept looking over at Rosie which made her uncomfortable.
"Its for your kids' own good! You five are not ready!" Boss slams his hand down on the desk and Xavier's eyes quickly scan his hand, a movement that can go easily unnoticed if you were not looking for it.
"Now settle down Agent. You guys are heading to Hawaii tomorrow in the early morning to solve that bank heist." Tony's head whips up, confusion evident due to his facial features.
"What do you mean Hawaii? They have their own police officers!" Lucy passes the papers over to Xavier who takes a seat next to Rosie, scanning the file.
"Yes Hawaii! There are notes and letters scribbled all over the place! But nothing was stolen."
Emily pipes up.
"Wait if they managed to break in, are you sure nothing was stolen?" Boss nods.
"That's what that report says," He motions his hands to the file Xavier currently holds. "Thought it was strange myself so I'm sending you guys to go."
Xavier's brows furrow together as he reads, clearly seeing his mind at work. Emily places the old files back on the desk and stands.
"May we leave?" He holds a hand up.
"Any final questions?" Nobody answers, "Okay, you are dismissed."
The big red door opens and Emily rushes out, heading straight for her room. Tony and Lucy share a look, both confused on the rush but shrug it off. Rosie passes the security guard from before to which he smiles a crooked smile at her.
"Back off of her Kyle, she's gay." The mans name now identified as Kyle coughs and looks away. Rose shoots Xavier a glare. He gives her a lopsided smile and passes her the file for her to read.
"Follow me." She tucks the papers under her arm and follows Xavier back to his room.
He flicks the light on and heads to his bedroom and seconds later returns with an old notebook. He motions for Rosie to take a seat on the couch and she does. Xavier grabs a pin from a cup on the stand and starts scribbling notes onto the paper.
"Something doesn't add up." Rosie tilts her head to the right, barely noticeable but Xavier puts it in his memory.
"What do you mean doesn't add up? We just got a new mission that's all." He scratches the back of his head and sits besides Rosie a good two feet away.
"Yeah that is the problem. He assigned us a new mission." At this point, Rosie is even more confused on what he is trying to get at.
"I don't-"
"Understand, yeah I know." He hands her the notebook and she takes it.
The pages are worn from use of flipping back and forth. Xavier's handwriting fills almost every inch of the page. All of it color coded to his desire of reds, blues, purples, greens, and of course black. At the top of the page, it has the heading "L.A.A." in blue.
"Why are you showing me the Locklin Assassination Association pages?" She flips through, scanning the context as he speaks.
"Because there is no way after we fought those criminals last night that this is a coincidence."
