ALSO! I know there are alot of errors in my writing, and I do plan on going back and fixing them. But for now my focus is to keep going on with the story. ^^;
Y/N got up from her bed the moment the sun light had broken through her windows, truthfully she had been up for the past hour but only now found the energy to get up. She was going to meet the original coach Ukai, or in other words her grandfather.
Ukai had reassured her that there was nothing to worry about, but Y/N knew that if her father found out she might get taken off the team. But it was a risk she was going to make. This was her chance to get connected to her family and she wasn't going to miss it.
Besides she loved Ukai so his old grandfather couldn't be that scary

She was wrong.

"YOU WORTHLESS GRANDSON I TOLD YOU NOT TO OVERCOOK THE HAMBURGERS NOW Y/N IS GOING TO THINK WE ARE CRAZY"
"Well if she didn't before she definitely does now."
"Uh Ukai..?""
Both men turned around
"Yes"
"yeah?"
"oh I meant the older one.."
Ukai began to laugh
"Yeah old Ukai she was talking to you"
The emphasis on old made His brow twitch
He patted the top of Y/N's head
it must be an Ukai thing..
"Just call me Pawpaw"
"PFFFF Pawpaw" Ukai began laughing at the odd nickname
Y/N was happy, sure he was a little rough around the edges but she felt safe, even if the hamburgers were on fire on the grill.
"Hey.... Pawpaw? the hamburgers are on fire.."
He smiled at the name but quickly snapped out of his gaze before putting out the fire
"Hey old man I'm going to check your kitchen for anything else we can eat."
"yeah yeah. Make sure to check the expiration dates, some of that food is older then Y/N"
This left Y/N alone with her now "pawpaw"
She wasn't quite as comfortable with him as Ukai.
"Wanna see some photos of your mom?.. if your comfortable with that."
Y/N looked at him, it was obvious he was nerves too.
But after Ukai told her how excited he was to see her she was determined to have a good time.
Ukai had told her how he had cleaned up the entire house, and even cleaned off his old grill
"I would really like that."
He pulled out a old book before blowing off the top, the dust filling the air.
He began to explain each photo and all the Odd traditions they had. he always spoke of her mother in present tense acting as though she was just on a trip. Y/N was so entranced she didn't even notice Ukai had come back outside. But instead of looking at the photos he watched the two.
