THE CLOCK ticks and my fingers tap the table accordingly as if I was waiting for some surprise to come my way. I pressed my back to the soft surface of a chair while my eyes shut closed.
I thought my breathing would be the only noise beside the ticking clock and my fingers tapping the table but a couple of knocks rampage the door, loud but wary.
Napabuntong hininga ako at saka nagpasyang tumayo upang pagbuksan ng pinto ang taong mukhang sabik na sabik upang makita ako.
"Here."
A man in a formal attire appears before the door with his left hand offering something rectangular towards me.
Ngumisi ako nang mapagtanto ang hawak nito saka mabilis na hinablot.
"Thanks, Grant."
Mas lalo naman akong napangisi nang makita ko ang pag-asim ng kaniyang mukha at ang pag-irap nito sabay talikod.
He raises his left hand while walking away from my room.
"Stop being insane," I grin when I heard him murmur before vanishing from my sight.
"Tsk." I hissed.
Isinara ko kaagad ang pinto nang mawala na ito sa aking paningin. Napatingin ako sa hawak kong isang sobre na may lamang mga dokumento.
Quick enough to stride my long and slender legs towards my table and eager to find out what has been given to me, I spend no second in switching my lamp on as well as getting the documents out inside the envelope.
Bumungad sa akin ang mga litrato na kung hindi lamang ako sapat na edukado ay hinding hindi ko mauunawaan ang ibig sabihin ng mga ito.
Napapikit ako at sa hindi malamang kadahilanan ay napasambit:
"What if the folklore is true? How far will they go?"
