Reason 18: Cascading Tears

"What a beautiful sunset." Hinatsuri muttered as she looked at the sky from the window. Kousuke sighed at her antics and called out to her. Only his voice could bring her back to reality. Once she was out of her daydream state, he told her that it was time for dinner.

"Hina, it's time to eat. Odasaku said that he'll be here to tell us something." He said. She pulled out from the window and smiled at him. The others were already downstairs, and they were the only ones left. He held her hand and went together downstairs.

The kids waited for Odasaku to come, but he never did. Hinatsuri felt like something bad was about to happen. She activated her ability and saw Oda battling a man with gray hair and brown cloak. He was clutching his chest in pain while the person he saved was on the ground unconscious. Just then, it changed to a blurred future. Dark hands pulled their bodies out of the house and into a container. It exploded and a loud ringing reverberated inside her head.

"S-Stop. Stop!" Her screams echoed around the room which woke the others. Kousuke was the first who went to her and calmed her down. Tears cascaded down her cheeks, breathing heavily. He tried to call out to her, but she was too focused on the scene that was shown to her. It was far too scary for her to recall it.

"Calm down, Hina. We're here. We're here." He assured. The girl stopped shaking and glanced at her friends. They all smiled at her. Sakura stepped up and gave her a glass of water. She accepted and drank it hastily. The thought of them disappearing scared her. It drove her crazy even.

'I can't just accept that can I!? I don't want to ever lose them. Please don't let that future come true.' She begged. Yuu and Katsumi returned to their beds while Shinji and Sakura told Kousuke to sleep beside her if she ever experience another episode. It made him blush, but his friend was not in any state to think straight, so it was his job to help her.

The following day, the master told them that Oda will be coming in the afternoon. They were ecstatic about the news especially after he broke his promise last night. They understood it though. He must have been busy with his work. Kousuke and Katsumi grinned, already forming another attempt to bring him down. Sakura and Hinatsuri muttered that they will just be brought down like last time.

"We're gonna win this time!"
"Yeah!"

Yuu was about to say something when they heard the front door opening quickly. They peeked to see if Oda had come early, but to their surprise, armored men came and threatened them.

"So this is where that bastard is hiding those children. Heh. With them, Oda Sakunosuke will be our savior." The master and Hinatsuri stood on their ground. They both knew that the kids were in danger so they ushered them to hide upstairs. Yuu and Kousuke were about to argue when they saw a familiar glint of Hinatsuri's eyes. They ran upstairs and hid.

"Little girl! You know Oda Sakunosuke, right? We're going to borrow you for a while." One of the men tried to grab her, but she picked up a knife and hit it between his forehead. Blood spurted across the counter, and the man dropped dead. The men were astounded by what happened. She asked them to leave or they will die.

"You bitch! How dare you kill Sam?" An armored man with brown hair rushed towards her and rained down bullets on her body. She hid behind the counter with the master whom she asked to gather as much knives, forks and a gun if he ever had one stashed in his kitchen. Nodding his head, he opened one of the hidden drawer below and grabbed a pistol. She sensed for the enemy and activated her abilities. As of now, there was a time limit to how long she could use them, but if it meant protecting the kids, she will utilize it to its limit.

"Ability: All Seeing Eyes, The Adamant Paradox." The bullets stopped, and she took the chance to aim the knives at them. It hit two, but there were still a number of them outside. They will have to escape somewhere. One of the men crept behind the counter and aimed the gun at her. It hit her shoulder, but a fork came speeding towards his chest. He died on the spot. The master stood up and aimed at those over the counter. He was able to kill three before another rain of bullets hit them. He was hit in the abdomen, arm and a graze in the neck. He was bleeding all over. Hinatsuri tore a part of her skirt and tightened it to his wounds.
