Riley's eyes widened as she made this realization.
"Riley are you okay?" Farkle asked. She let go of him.
"No," she said shaking her her head. "I need to go!" She ran out of the room. Maya and Lucas made their way over to Farkle.
"Hey where'd Riles go?" Maya asked.
"I don't know." Farkle said, still staring after her.
The dance ended a few minutes later and everyone was clearing out.
"Wow. I got ditched by two girls in one night. That must be a record!" Farkle said shaking his head.
"Speaking of which, is anyone gonna go check on Riley?" Lucas asked.
"Ya I'll go." Maya offered. "I'll see you guys later!"
Maya made her way to the Matthews house and this time she decided to use the window. She knocked and waited for a response.
"Come in!" Came a muffled voice from inside. She opened the window and climbed through.
"Hey Riles you in here?" She asked.
"Ya! I'm just in my closet changing! Give me a sec." She emerged a minute later, having swapped her dress for Pjs.
"I see you're still in your dress." Riley said pointing at Maya.
"Ya I came straight from the dance to find you. What happened?"
Riley sat down on her bed. She said nothing and just looked at her hands.
"Riles?" Maya said sitting down next to her.
Riley took a deep breath. "I couldn't Maya."
"You couldn't what?"
"Face him." Riley said, looking Maya in the eyes.
"Face who? Farkle?" Maya asked, confused.
"Yes. It all happened so fast! All my feelings were made clear in a split second."
"Riley, tell me what's going on!" Maya said, frustrated.
"I... I'm in love with Farkle." Silence filled the room.
"Riley..." Maya couldn't find the words. "Wow... I don't know what to say."
