Quick update: Hey guys! So I've decided to end this book in this chapter. But I am thinking about making another Riarkle fanfic that will probably include some other ships as well. Let me know if you'd be interested in that or not In the comments!😊
Farkle paced around his room. What Maya said had really got him thinking. He didn't want to admit it, but she was right. If he kept lying to himself and them about his feelings, he would end up hurting both girls. He sat down on his bed and ran his fingers through his hair. He glanced down at his phone and after hesitating for a few moments, he quickly typed a text to Smackle.
It read, "Hi Smackle. It's Farkle. Can you meet at Topanga's in two hours? I really need to talk to you about something." He put down his phone and waited for a response. It didn't take long.
Smackle wrote back, "Hello Dearest! Of course I'm free to meet you! See you in two hours my love." Her text stung his heart. She truly loved him and he was about to break up with her!
"It's the right thing to do. I'm hurting her more by leading her on." He told himself. The hours passed quickly and soon it was time to meet Smackle. He grabbed his jacket and looked out the window.
Great it's raining. He thought. What a great time to break up with someone while it's raining.
He made his way over to Topanga's, going as slowly as he could. He wanted to put this off as long as possible. When he finally made it there, he saw Smackle sitting at their usual place with there usual orders. He walked over and sat down.
"So what was it you wanted to talk about?" Smackle asked. That was her. She always likes to get straight to the point.
"I wanted to talk about us, well us... and Riley." Farkle choked out. Smackle took a deep breath.
"Farkle... I know." She said, resting her hand on top of his.
"Know what?"
"You love Riley." Farkle turned stiff.
"Is it... that obvious?" Smackle let out a small laugh. "Yes."
"How long have you known?"
"Ever since I met you. I saw the way you looked at her, the way you treated her. You didn't treat anyone else like that. And I can see that you still look at her the same way you did when we were young." She gave him a slight smile. "Because of my feelings for you, I was selfish and took you for myself before you could realize your true feelings for Riley. But I was wrong to do so. And I see that now."
"Smackle, I'm so sorry I didn't tell you this sooner."
"It's alright. And I understand that you want to break up with me. And I'd like you to know that wether or not we're dating, I'm still going to be here for you. As a friend."
"Thank you Smackle. You don't know how much that means to me."
Just then Riley walked in. She saw them.
"Oh. I'm sorry I didn't know you guys were here." She said and ran out into the pouring rain.
"Farkle!"
"What?"
"Go after her!" Smackle said and nearly pushed Farkle out the door.
"Thank you." He said and gave her a quick peck on the cheek before running after Riley.
"Riley! Wait!" Farkle yelled. She turned around and looked at him. Farkle couldn't help but think how beautiful she looked with the raindrops dripping from her long, brown hair.
"I wanted to tell you," he said, walking towards her. He stopped when he was right in front of her. "That I love you." Riley looked surprised. Her big brown eyes widened.
"Wait but what about Smackle?" She asked.
"I'm so sorry Riley! I've been lying to both of you and myself. In middle school I told you I've been in love with you since first grade and that hasn't changed! Riley Matthews, I love you."
"I love you too, Farkle Minkus!" She said before kissing him. He was surprised at first, but then he slowly melted into the kiss. They were silhouetted against the sky, with the rain falling all around them.
