As the two walked through the edge of Pennsylvania, rain began to pour from the sky. Thunder and lightning struck the air and the wind rocketed away many valuable possessions.

Leo sighed as he was drenched from the rain. Karai was trying to dodge the rain by standing underneath Leo's arm, causing Leo to T-pose. Even though the two were used to rain, they had never experienced this much of a storm.

Leo tried to take a step forward when suddenly, a flash of lightning struck in front of them. Leo and Karai gasped while electricity began to survey the ground. Leo glanced down at Karai before pulling her to safety. He ambushed her into a small den that was hidden away in a pile of boulders. Then, the two sat next to each other, drenched, tired, and anxious.

Leo panted as he looked back down at Karai. She had her legs pulled to her chest and her face buried in her knees. Leo could hear heavy breathing coming from her and small, short  sobs. Leo sighed. He wrapped his arm around Karai's shoulders and pulled her close in a comforting way. Karai was shocked but immediately gave in.

"Hey. It's okay." Leo comforted, pulling her closer and laying his head onto hers. "Everything will be just fine."

Karai looked up at Leo with tears streaming down her face. She had fear in her eyes as she pulled herself closer to Leo.

"What's wrong?" Leo asked, trying to comfort her. Karai wiped away the tears that were streaming down her face and sighed.

"I-I'm scared that Shredder is going to find me and lock me away from the world again. That if I were to go back to Splinter and your brothers, they wouldn't except me. That the world will fear me for who I am. I don't want that to happen..." Karai sobbed. She laid her head down onto Leo's shoulder and whimpered.

"Of course Splinter and the others would except you! You're Splinter's daughter. He would do anything in the world to get you back. And if Shredder were to take you again, you know that the guys and I would save you. Things may seem hard now but I know who you really are. You're Karai Hamato. Don't let anybody bring you down, no matter what." Leo comforted.

Karai looked up at Leo and smiled. She wiped away the tears in her eyes and hugged Leo tightly. Leo gasped. Karai had never hugged him before. It felt good.

She released her grip and stood up. The storm had settled down outside. Karai glanced down at Leo and smiled.

"So. What now?" She asked, holding her hand out for Leo to grab. Leo blushed a bit as he pulled himself off of the ground, still holding Karai's hand. The two walked out of the cave and smiled. Then, they voyaged back to New York, knowing that everything was going to be just fine.
