As the sun began to rise over the city of New York, Karai scavenged around the town in a panic. Fear managed to strike through her body. She was unsure of what was happening. One minute she was hanging from a cellar over an overgrown canister of mutagen. The next minute, she was now fleeing the city, thoughts scurrying about her mind and scales trailing her body.

She continued making her way across the city, scared out of her mind, when she came across a rundown building at the edge of town. It seemed a abandoned.

Karai made her way to a closed window that was connected to the abandoned building. She looked into it and saw her reflection. She had turned into an overgrown white python. Karai glanced down and saw a large tail following her command.

She let out a loud hiss in fear, hoping Leo, Donnie, Raph, Mikey, or even Splinter would hear. Then, she scurried away onto the fire escapes in a dark ally way. She pounced onto the rooftop and dropped to the ground in pain. Her scales slowly began to fade away as did her long tail.

As she sat up, she had returned to her normal self, still scared. Was it normal to feel this way? Everything seemed so weird now.

She stood up and gazed over the city. The sun was now above the horizon and blinds began to open. Voices echoed through the streets. Cars honked at one another in both a greeting way and an annoyed way. Blaring music rang through the air. Rock, pop, rap, you name it. This was an average day in New York.

Karai sighed. She was afraid. Afraid to go back. Afraid that she would be under Shredder's control again. Afraid that her real family would turn her down. This was her new life. A lone wolf. A rebel.

Karai sighed as she continued making her way over the rooftops. Her sapphire eyes were glowing in the sunlight. This was a side effect that she couldn't control. Her python eyes that shimmered brightly in the beams of light. It almost seemed like her eyes were made out of pure diamonds.

As Karai hopped from each building, she glanced back at the city. She had reached the end of town and was now standing at the border line of Pennsylvania. She had never left the city before. Her whole life, Shredder had trapped her in his lair. It felt nice to be free for once.

"Goodbye New York." She muttered. Karai turned her back and crossed the border line, not turning back once.

Little did she know, a blue masked turtle was watching her in the shadows.
