Rúna's life with the mongols was not too bad. They were not completely heartless as it was believed. After they understood completely that the blonde goddess was not a normal wife and that she will fight every mongol in her way to get what she wants, they were nice to her and brought her lots of gifts. Because if you are in her favour, then the favour of the leader is also with you, because he is smitten with his new wife and would do everything for this strong woman.
After all she might be the best leaders wife in a long time. And when people see her and her confidence they automatically want to be like her. Who wouldn't?Of course, the temperatures are cold, but she does not mind. Why would she? She is a norse goddess and she was born in the cold. And a benefit of all those smitten men in the clan is, that every time they are hunting, they search for the warmest and biggest furs to turn into some soft and warm coat or blanket. She has a whole collection at her home now. And regularly she gives some to people who need them more that she does. After all, this is one of the only things she can do. She cannot tell them, that she can fight, because this would be a shock to these people and their traditions. And she is not allowed to go hunting, because only the men do these dangerous things. She could argue about that, but she does not want that. It is actually quite nice to just lean back and do nothing.
Jakob visits her every day because he is freed from these manly duties. Being her servant after all. It seems as if he does not mind as well, because each time he comes to visit her, he sits down like it is his home, takes himself a glass of whatever she always gets to drink and then he talks to her properly. He still does his duties, of course.
Over the time she learned a lot about their habits and rituals. Which was quite good, because as you can imagine, she does not want to stay with the mongols forever. At some point she will be pressured to make babies with the leader and first of all, that would be disgusting and second of all, those babies would be half gods. And this would be not the best.
"Listen Jakob. I will kill him. And then when I am the leader I am going to give the titel to someone else. And after that we and the servants are going to flee back to the Dynasty. Or wait. Let us go back after ten years and not just seven. We are going to another country till we make a big entrance. How does that sound?", Rúna speaks in her mother tongue, so that no mongol would understand her plans. They would kill her on the spot. Or at least they would try.
"It's a risky plan, Rúna. But I believe in your plans and your fighting skills. I know you can do it and I will always have your back, you know that", the blonde man says with a smile on his handsome face.
"Good. Tonight. When he is too drunk to realise what is happening. You will hear screams, so come find me then."
"I will, I will. But are you sure?", he asks her hesitantly.
"No one is always completely sure. This can go downhill and we could be killed. Or more likely: you will be killed and I will be raped and after I birthed the child killed. But you know, I am a goddess. I could burn everything down, but that is plan Z."
"I am going to believe you and I will pray to the allfather, that everything is going after Plan A."
"Good, do that. I am sure he senses our doing. Hopefully he won't have our head when he wakes up", Rúna laughs, but Jakob seems pretty terrified at her statement.
When she noticed that Jakob does not laugh as well, she is looking at him and his wide eyes full of concern and fear. "That was a joke, Jakob. Do not look so terrified. Odin will not have our heads for that. He knows how to live good and dangerous."Even at her new statement the blonde man still has the concern in his eyes. Understandable, it is Odin after all.
Quickly he mutters a fast goodbye and the scampers out of her mongol home. The goddess just raised her right eyebrow and then drank the rest of her beverage. She has to prepare after all.
