What happens in an ancient Egyptian temple, stays there. [2]

Nighttime in Alexandria was beautiful, Rúna thought, as she and Dakarai were walking on the beach. The water glowed in the moonlight and the little waves were beautiful to look at. Some boats with little lanterns were still on the water and some dolphins swam and jumped sometimes.

Dakarai, who walked next to her, removed some of his armor and just kept his sword and breastplate, in case of any danger. It was strange for Rúna to see him without his heavy but beautifully carved armor. Even though he was always on guard, he looked quite carefree in this exact moment.

Rúna almost didn't want to leave this place the day after tomorrow, but she knew that she couldn't stay here. The culture is so different from hers, that she would not be able to live here for quite some time. These people believed in different gods and most of them thought that they are the only real gods out there. But the goddess is not sure, if the egyptian gods even exist and she knows that her wish to see the gods in the temple is impossible to fulfil.

The blonde woman knows, that the people were always watching her, after the story she told them. Some believed her, some did not. But that is not her concern. She does not care about what these people thought and believed about her. She also does not care about these things they say among themselves about her.
She lived for so many years, and still many to come, that she knows she should not care about anyones opinion. She is better in many ways than just normal humans. Quite selfish, she thought.

"You know, there is a temple not too far from here, build by the Ptolemaic Kingdom dedicated to Osiris. It is incredible! You should see it before you go back in two days. If you are not too tired, maybe we can... if you want... we could perhaps go there. All the lights and the colours are really beautiful to look at", Dakarai said shyly and Rúna could have sworn that she saw a light blush on his cheeks.
"What about your wife? I am not someone who steals husbands from wifes, you know. If she finds out, then the consequences are quite troublesome."
"She is...", he tries to find the right words and falters a bit, "She disappeared a year ago. She was pregnant and one night I came home and she was gone. Her clothes and things she had were gone and our house looked like nobody female was ever there. Nobody knows what happens. Soldiers looked out everywhere for her. She was loved, everyone knew what she looked like and over two month they searched for her. I searched for her. But if we thought, that we had a lead to where she was going, our hopes were crushed because they led to nothing. I just told you I had one, so that you do not demand anyone else. A lot of travellers want someone married to accompany their wifes and I did not know if you had one and if he would have anything against me. So I said that I am married. Please forgive me, Rúna."

Dakarai looked so heartbroken while telling the blonde female about his wife, that she thought he would break down in the sand.  Little tears slipped out of the corner of his eyes and his hands were shaking wildly. Pity formed in her stomach. Pity for him, for that what his wife kind of did to him.

Without thinking about it, she wrapped her arms around his muscular shoulders and layed his head on hers. All emotions he kept hidden for this time came out in this exact moment and little sobs escaped his mouth. Soothingly she let her left hand wander over his hair and scalp. The dark strands were soft and really nice to touch. His arms wrapped around her as well and hold her tight in place. She felt his muscles move with every sob that is coming out of him.
Her left hand wanders from his head to his neck. Gentle she massaged the soft skin on his neck and let her hand wander over his spine.

After some minutes his sobs turned quieter and his arms around her loosend their hold on her, till he eventually let go.
"Thanks", is the only thing he said to her, clearly a bit embarrassed of this situation.
"You are welcome. You know it is alright if you cry. Everyone can cry, not just woman or children. Even the 'heathen' men cried at one point or another. Frigg, the goddess of the sky and the Queen of the Aesir even comforted the warriors in Valhalla that missed their family. She was like the mother of all gods. Always beautiful, gentle and caring. Whenever someone needed advice or needed to be comforted they would go to her and she would always care for them.  I know you do not belive in my gods, but maybe if you imagine Frigg then you can feel her comfort too. i am sure that she would care for everyone in the world, even if they do not have the same believes. She is a mother after all", Rúna spoke soft to the tall warrior, "And yes, I would like to see the temple you told me about."
