Reader's POV:

Working with Ukai, I dust some shelves with him.

"On the banks of the Hirose River," we sing in sync, "Memories afloat on the stream. Dancing lights over the rapids."

We continued singing together, but I got startled when Ukai freaked out and ran out of the store.

I look outside and see him arguing with a young man with glasses.

"Uh, sorry, I was just seeing if you had any customers." The man whimpered.

"Are you here to ask me to coach again?" Ukai says annoyed.

"Yes." The man says quietly.

It goes silent.

"It's not that I don't still love to play. I even put together a neighborhood team. I can't coach cause I drive myself crazy wanting to play." Ukai looks away from him. The young man starts to understand.

"And besides, I can't go anywhere near that gym."

The young man looks surprised, and hurt, "Did something tragic happen there?"

"Not at the least, all my best memories are there," Ukai says, turning to the young man.

"Then why can't you?" He asks.

"I don't care if it's totally different or exactly the way I left it. I can't go into that gym or club room ever again. The short time I spent there was so unique, if I went back, it'd feel like opening a time capsule."

"Oh, so it's a nostalgia thing! Kay, I get it." The young man teased.

"Shut up!" Ukai yelled, flustered.

"And anyway it's still a no!" Ukai declared.

"Even if Nekoma high is on the schedule?" The young man says, determined. Ukai looked shocked.

What does Nekoma have to do with coaching?

"The last day of the golden week. It's our first time facing them in five years."

Old rivals?

"You have got to be kidding me," Ukai says, still bamboozled.

"Coach Nekomata, the man that your grandfather used to be such good friends with. He just came out of retirement. Once I heard that I asked them for a practice game."

Ukai was speechless, "Back when you were still in high school that was when Karasuno had the strongest ties with them, right?"

"Yea." Ukai finally said something.

"By the way, their current coach is the same guy who played the setter position about 7 or 8 years ago."

Who?

"That was back when you were active in the club. So I was thinking maybe you two might know each other."

"Hey," Ukai says quietly.

He grabs the young man by the collar and starts yelling, "Are you trying to mess with me!?!"

The young man started to freak out while he was being shaken, "I'm sorry, I'm really sorry!"

"This is bullshit! You came here to push my buttons! Did you really think that would work?! What time is the practice today?!"

"I said I- huh?" the young man looked surprised.
