(Vidia's view)

I continued along the winding path leading deeper into the woods, and toward the light at the edge of the trees, the frosty wind blew harshly sending my long auburn hair into my eyes.

"Yikes!" I thought as I pulled my sweater closer to myself in hopes of staying warm.

I followed the path all the way to the end of the trees, then stopped to gaze in wonder at  the frosty meadow before me.

I jumped in surprise at the sound of a twig snapping somewhere not to far from where I was standing.

"Who's there?" I called, but the noise had vanished as soon as I spoke up.

"Strange," I thought, before returning my attention to the meadow with it's beautiful icy glade of winter roses which sparkled like blue diamonds in the snow.

I sighed, then quickly glanced down at my phone and saw it was almost three in the afternoon.

I cast one final glance at where the noise had come from, then retraced my steps back through the woods and made my way out to my car and driving home.
