Christine trembled as she heard the voice of her Angel coming from somewhere she couldn't see in her dressing room. It was as if he was calling her to him. She didn't know whether to follow it or ignore it. If she followed the voice, her life could very well change drastically. Then, it stopped.
She figured it must just be a figment of her imagination. She wasn't really hearing a voice. She sighed and thought about Meg and Mme. Giry. If she followed this voice, would she never see them again? She didn't want to risk that. They were the only family she had. She had other priorities to worry about. She had just sung as the lead role in Hannibal, which was a very scary yet exhilarating feat for her. She definitely didn't need a new adventure. She was afraid of what would happen if she followed the voice. Then she heard it again, only louder this time. She didn't hear or understand the words, but her Angel was there.
What did he want? She was afraid yet curious of the answer. She thought of all of those nights where her Angel sang to her, comforting her, keeping her awake yet calming her down enough to sleep. Did he want to distract her from her obligations as a chorus girl, and now lead in the opera? Or, was he someone who understood her? Did he know that she felt as though she didn't belong here? She found herself walking towards the mirror where the voice was coming from. After all, there was a part of her that longed to follow. His voice was like that of a siren, sweet and seductive and luring her to an uncertain place. She couldn't help but follow. She threw caution to the wind as she continued to walk closer. Was he there? Did he see her? Could he sense her? Could he show her? She finally approached the mirror, completely entranced, adrenaline coursing through her veins. She grasped his outstretched hand. Instantly, she knew her life would never be the same again. But this time, she was okay with that. She allowed him to lead her into the unknown.
A/N I hope you enjoyed this!! Once again I tried to stick with the lyrics while making this realistic to the characters and/or story of POTO. It was fun and surprisingly didn't take as long as I thought it would. It's also shorter than I thought it would be but oh well. I have not edited this at the time of posting so if there's any grammar issues or anything, I'll probably change that later but we shall see. Anyway, I hope you all have a wonderful day!
