There were many ways in which Akane Hayasaka could have predicted her Thursday afternoon to go. Being attacked by a villain, and being saved by the love of her life, were not included in those events.

She had just finished lunch, walking back to her job at the record store to continue her shift, when the villain attacked. Now, Akane had seen villain attacks before. In fact, she'd seen far more than she'd ever wanted to see, but there really wasn't much she could do about that. Most of the time, the heroes got there in time to deal with any lasting damage, but ever since the league of villains were on the rise, villain attacks actually began to worry her.

The villain was some muscley man with long, retractable, tentacle-like coils that shot from his arms. They were strong. They must have been as hard as steel with the way that they were crashing into the shops in the area.

Akane was frozen in place as civilians rushed around her, running from the villain and screaming, since there were no heroes around yet. She watched as the villain terrorized the people in the city, his moves clearly calculated, intending to harm those around him.

This wasn't some guy trying to get his name on the map. This was a killer. He was after blood.

This time, he'd set his sights on Akane.

His angry eyes singled in on her, and she knew exactly what was going to happen before he even made a move to come after her. There's a moment of clarity right before death, she realizes. Seeing it, knowing it's inevitable, understanding that there's not a single thing that you can do to stop it, not without a quirk, which she lacked. She stood there, and watched as the coil shot out from his arm. She waited, only the moment never came.

However, what did come, was the hard body of another person knocking into her, rolling the two of them across the floor. They'd landed on top of her, sheltering her from anything else that might come her way. In a flash they were up off of her, turning around to face the villain.

She looked at the boy in front of her, his back to her as he blocked her body from the villain. The first thing she noticed about her savior was his spiky blonde hair. The second thing she noticed, were his exploding hands.

He sent a large explosion towards the villain, strong enough to knock him against a nearby building. She stared in awe as the boy turned towards her again, crouching in front of her and grabbing her chin, harshly in his hand.

"Oi! Are you okay? Did I hit your head on the way down?" He asked. Though his voice was angry and demanding, Akane could hear the concern behind it. She shook her head, her jaw hanging open at the sight of the boy who saved her life. "Good. Get as far away from here as you possibly can! Now!"

Akane didn't have to be told twice. She ran in the opposite direction, following the other civilians, as her legs grew a mind of their own. She ran all the way to the record store without stopping once. Once she made it, she opened the door, slamming it shut behind her, and leaning against it to catch her breath. Her eyes met those of her boss', Robyn, as she finally spoke.

"I think I'm in love."

After explaining the situation to Robyn, Akane was told to go home and rest after the attack. Though she protested, trying to at least finish her shift, Robyn made sure that she left to go home.

It wasn't like Akane could even rest after the events of today, and she especially couldn't rest when the boy who saved her life was out there somewhere, while she had no clue who he was.

On the news that night, he wasn't mentioned even once, despite the fact that Akane watched him do what he could to keep the villain from hurting anyone. Instead, Edgeshot was praised for saving the people in the area once he made it to the scene. Akane was pissed off that her savior got no credit for his actions, but she didn't dwell on it.

For weeks after the events, Akane searched for the boy. She asked her friends if they knew anyone who looked the way she described, and she wondered what school he attended. She didn't even know if he attended a normal school or one for heroes in training. It drove her crazy thinking about who he was.

No matter what she did, or how hard she tried, she couldn't get the sight of his red eyes out of her head.

First chapter! I can't even believe I'm starting a new story but here we are. This will like very loosely follow the show. There will probably be more written about the relationship than the world and the events that happen in the anime. Anyways, thanks for reading!
