"Are you sure you'll be okay?" Robyn asked Akane as she locked the door to the shop behind them. It was around seven-fifteen, when they finished cleaning and closed up the shop for the night, but Robyn didn't want to leave Akane outside alone.

"I'll be fine! He'll be here any minute, and he makes explosions with his hands. I'm pretty sure I'm safe." Akane told her boss. The older woman looked at the girl in front of her before sighing and shaking her head.

"But what if he's late? Or what if he stands you up? Didn't you say he was mean?" Robyn questioned. Akane rolled her eyes at her protectiveness.

"He's not going to stand me up." She told her confidently, "Go home! Rest for once in your life, Rob."

"Call me when he picks you up...and when you get to the restaurant." She tells her, "And when you get home!"

Akane watched the older woman walk away from her up the street, laughing every time she turned around to check on her before disappearing behind a corner. When she checked the time on her phone, she had five minutes before Bakuguo was meant to pick her up. Moments later, she sees him crossing the street to meet her in front of the store. She grins widely, sending him a wave. He just nods in return.

"What the hell are you doing waiting outside in the dark? It's not safe, dumbass." He scolds her as he walks up to her.

"Well hello to you too." She says, rolling her eyes, "I didn't know you cared so much."

"I don't." He defended himself quickly. She shrugged, before pulling on his arm.

"Come on." She tells him, pulling him down the street in the direction of the restaurant.

They didn't talk much on the walk there, but Akane didn't mind. She could help but steal glances at him, noticing that he looked nice. He wasn't wearing anything fancy, just a red t-shirt and fitted jeans, but she couldn't help it. Bakugou Katsuki was hot, and Akane didn't know if he'd want to see her again after this date. She wanted to remember him.

Bakugou noticed her looking. If it had been any other person, he would have yelled at them for being so nosey, but if he was being honest with himself, he liked that she stole glances towards him. Her eyes burned holes into his body, a blush rising to her cheeks each time she stared, and he found himself realizing that he thought she was cute.

Bakugou knew that Akane was cute. It wasn't like he couldn't see that, but as the two of them walked down the street together, he truly noticed it. He was attracted to her, that much he could admit. He was stealing his own glances himself, watching her hips sway as she walked, her lavender hair blowing over her shoulder when a breeze would pass by.

Before they knew it, they arrived at the restaurant. They were seated immediately, the two of them across from each other scanning the menu. Once the waitress had brought their drinks, she asked for their orders. After Bakugou ordered spicy ramen, Akane decided she wanted the same thing.

"Oh! I'll have that too." She told the waitress, handing her the menu. When the waitress left, Bakugou narrowed his eyes at the girl in front of him.

"You don't have to do that, you know. It's not gonna make me like you more or something." He told her, annoyed with her decision.

"Bakugou," She started, reaching across the table to lay her hand on top of his, "You are going to learn that I don't do anything to ensure that people like me more."

"Yeah, whatever." He says, not believing her and snatching his hand away. He didn't want her to be one of those girls who does everything because their boyfriend did it. He thought she might be different. "I'll laugh at you when you can't handle how spicy it is."

"And I'll laugh at you when I prove you wrong." She retorts. She catches the ghost of a smile on his lips, before he catches himself and goes back to frowning.

"So, what school do you go to?" She asks him. It suddenly occurs to her that she asked out a boy that she knows virtually nothing about.

"U.A. High School." He says proudly with his chin in the air.

"Of course that's where you go!" She says with a smile, "The school for heroes. What's it like?"

"It's like a normal school, except for all the hero stuff." He shrugs.

"Haven't you guys been attacked a couple of times?" She asks, before she realizes what she said, "I'm sorry. I don't know why I even brought that up."

"It's fine." He brushes it off, but there's anger behind it. He didn't want to talk about villain attacks with this girl he'd just met.

"So...your hands explode." She says, awkwardly. Bakugou lets out a cocky laugh before bringing his hand up, showing how they spark from his palms. She can tell he's proud of his quirk.

"Do you have a quirk?" He asks, and she looks down at her hands for a moment.

"What would you say if I didn't?" She asked. She wasn't usually insecure about being quirkless. Pretty much everyone she knew had quirks, including both of her parents, but she felt embarrassed telling him.

"I wouldn't say anything. Who the fuck cares if you're quirkless?" He tells her with a shrug of his shoulders. He was usually the first person to make fun of someone for being quirkless. He'd bullied Deku his whole life for it, but he didn't want to hurt Akane. And, truth be told, he actually didn't care that she was quirkless.

    "Really?" She asked, surprised.

"You really think I care that much?" He scoffs. Moments later, their ramen is brought to them. Akane smirks at the boy in front of her, taking a huge bit of the noodles in front of her.

"Fucking delicious." She tells him when she swallows her bite. She's surprised to watch a smile grow across his face, something she hadn't seen before. It makes her laugh.

"Why are you laughing?" He asks her.

"I don't know. I just-you're really cute you know that?" She tells him. Bakugou hadn't got used to how bold she could be, how she could just tell him how she felt without fear.

"Whatever, dumbass." He says, but he blushes at her words.

When the bill came, Bakugou snatched it from the table, making Akane reach over the table to take it from him.

"Hey! No! I'm paying!" She protested, her arms reaching for the check.

"Fuck off." He tells her nonchalantly, holding the bill above his head.

"You saved my life! Let me pay for your meal, you asshole!" She argued, still reaching for the bill.

"I don't think it's very polite to call your date an asshole." He teases her.

"You called me a dumbass all night long! Give me the bill!" She stands up from her seat, snatching the bill from his hands.

"Shitty woman." He grumbles, slouching in his seat with his arms crossed over his chest.

"You can get it next time." She winks.

After they pay, the two of them leave the restaurant, and Bakugou walks Akane to the train station. He wants to walk her home, but he was only supposed to be out until nine, and he was already cutting it close.

"So..." She starts as they approach the train car, "That was fun."

"Whatever." He shrugs, not wanting to admit that he did have a good time.

"Maybe we can do it again sometime?" She asks hopefully.

"Tch." Is all she gets from him, but she smiles anyways.

"I'm not hearing 'no'!" She taunts before sending him a wave and turning to catch her train.

Akane takes her seat, giddy from her date with the hot headed boy, hoping that she'll see him again. Bakugou walks back to U.A., thinking about Akane the whole way back. That night, as the two lay down to fall asleep, they realize that they never exchanged numbers.
