Chapter 6

I've been walking down the street for around 10 minutes, I guess? It felt longer than usual after what happened few minutes ago. I know that Niall knows this secret because he spotted me kissing a random guy in a party, which I don't remember how long ago it was.

I walked with my head down, thinking about the fact that Niall told it to only one person and that was none other than Harry Styles. I put my head up a bit to see I've reached my home then.

I walked towards the door and yelled, "I'm home!", loud enough for my parents to hear it. It was a Sunday that's why my dad stayed home. My mom said, "Welcome home, sweetheart! How was the practice?" I said, "It was great!"

Without sharing another word with anyone, I ran up the stairs and went inside my room, locking the door behind me. I had anxiety ever since the day my parents kicked my brother out when he came out as gay. He was around 16 years old and I was nearly 13.

I went up to my room, locking the door and bringing my knees near my chest, hearing how my parents treated my brother, Aaron, with tears rolling down my cheeks.

I went up near my desk, putting my bag on the chair and jumping on my bed. I faced the ceiling and started thinking that why my 'parents' hated LGBTQ+ community. Whenever my dad used to take me and my brother to the park as kids and caught sight of a gay couple, he would cover our eyes, saying that, "Don't look at them. They're really disgusting people." I hated that phrase so much today when I turned into one of them.

I'm often scared if my secret opens up to my parents and do the same thing they did to Aaron. I covered my face with my hands, trying to let go from these thoughts. It was better until my mom distracted my thoughts by calling me for dinner. I hopped out of my bed and ran down the stairs as if I was a toddler and went towards the kitchen table to have my food.
