A really fast forward
End of high school (assuming that in these four years everything is as same as it is)

Fall season

It was finally homecoming. I saw many people proposing for homecoming and I too received one. I cannot say no to a girl who asked me because I'm not that rude to even have a dance with someone.

It was lunch break and everyone settled down talking about their prom date but Louis looked sad. Liam asked him, "You didn't got this year too mate. It's fine. You can still enjoy the party." He nodded slowly as if not having the strength to move a muscle. I felt sad too for he was the only one left whereas he was a really nice guy, although I liked him.

We encouraged him to make him feel better and it was until a girl walked up to us and asked Louis out for the prom. We were happy for him and so did he, having the biggest smile on his face.

Fast forward

I picked up my date from her house and walked with her with our arms interlocked with each other. I see the entrance to the auditorium crowed with people as they take group pictures. We enter the room and saw it's beautifully decorated. There are strips of gold and colourful paper hanging from the ceiling. The lights are dimly yellow and there's a table with some fizzy drinks on it. The DJ is playing slow songs for now but I bet the party will start soon. This is just the beginning.

Soon, we danced to the jazz songs and we were enjoying it as if it's the last day. Then, the principal is on stage announcing, "Today, we celebrate love amongst each other. Even if it is your friend, you still have a connection with them. I'm happy to see everyone enjoying this prom and I hope you won't regret it. But now, we have the dance competition. Show off the best moves you can do with you partner and if you win, the couple will be crowned as PROM PRINCE and PROM PRINCESS. So let's begin!"

I could clearly see the possessive girls going too hard because they wanna be crowned as PROM PRINCESS. I told my date to take it easy and that we don't wanted to win, we were there to enjoy. She nodded in agreement and we danced to the music.

From across the room, I could see Louis standing in the corner with a drink in his hand. I excused my date and walked towards him, squeezing myself between the crowd.

I finally reached there and asked Louis, "Why are you standing here alone? I thought you had a date." He wipes a tear from his eye and said, "My date went away and started dancing with someone else. She was here with me but all of a sudden she changed her mind. This was my last prom and the only chance I got that proposal."

I tried cheering him up and grabbed his hand to dance with me and my date. I know I liked him but I only did this so that nobody knows I disliked girls and also prom is the best day of your life and the last day to be with your friends. All three of us danced and the music stopped and the lights turned off.

We then noticed a spotlight on stage and it was the principal, "Now, we are gonna announce the PROM PRICE and PROM PRINCESS." The spotlight goes around the room and it landed on Niall and his date. Everyone clapped except for the girls who wanted to be the one. They walk up the stage and were rewarded. We cheerily hooted and made noise for the both of them. I was happy at the sight that my friend was the one crowned.

It was then when the music changed and that is when the actual party started. Me and my friends gathered in a circle and danced to the music blaring in the room. Our dates were also gone away to dance with the others. I noticed Louis wasn't there and I looked for him worriedly. It was until when he brushed pass me and I felt something in my hand. It was a paper chit, I opened it and read it. It was written... 'MEET ME IN THE HALLWAY '.........
