𝘞𝘐𝘛𝘏 𝘛𝘏𝘌 𝘏𝘈𝘕𝘋-on-the-thigh incident easily enough put behind her, Graylin offered Kheo a smile as she ducked into the back seat of his car. Gavin, who was sitting shot gun and had turned around in his seat, whistled as she situated herself next to Chessa.

"Are those heels I see you wearing, Thornton?" He asked her as he took his time to raise his gaze up from her cleavage to meet her eyes.

"They're wedges, you pig." Graylin let him know, making him grin.

"You look hot, Gray." Chessa smiled at her best friend. Graylin was adorned in a Bohemian backless maxi dress that her mom had picked out for her at a boutique. It was a turquoise color and cinched around her waist with pink and peach floral patterns, a deep v-neck, and a thigh-high slit along the side. She wore her hair in loose curls, thick golden hoops on her ears, and a crown of pearls and golden-leaves on top of her head.

Graylin thanked Chessa for her compliment just as her eyes drifted back over to where Kheo had resumed driving the lot to the Island Club where Midsummer celebrations were annually held. He had barely returned the smile she'd given him which made her worry that something had happened. With the absence of Layla among them, Graylin was betting that his mood was related to his girlfriend.
