                                                                                       (Milly POV) <- it's short

Milly shut the door with trembling hands before whirling around, staring at Grey with flushed cheeks as she snapped, "What do you think you are doing? I am trying to teach Luminos's Heir about that horrid- "

"You were about to ruin everything!" Grey whispered harshly, pulling her away from the bedroom. "The thing that Ina brought with him is a servant of Umbra!"

Milly froze. Her mind raced back to the boy beside the Heir but his face was fuzzy at best. She remembered the other boy's eyes were grey and while it was not uncommon, it wasn't common either. Still, for Luminos's Heir to be with someone like that... "That's impossible."

"I saw it, Milly. Not a worshipper but a servant. Shadows were clinging to that boy like mud."

"But the Heir - "

"Ina wasn't fazed." Grey's face twisted. "He 'likes' that thing."

Disgusted so powerful filled Milly that she had to swallow down the need to gag. "Well, we can't keep that thing in the house! It goes against Luminos! Ugh, just thinking about it on my bed. And with Ina-we should kill it before it stains him. "

"Calm down. I will go out to the church in the morning and have them take Ina and that thing- "

Alarms went off in Milly's head. She quickly grabbed her husband's arm. "Grey wait! Let's think about this. We have the fifth God at our house. He is a part of Luminos and you want to just give him to the church?"

That's right. Milly realized with clarity. They have Luminos's Heir in their house. One that is a child, moldable and innocent. Placed so neatly in her palms it seemed almost like Luminos's will...

Grey furrowed his eyebrows, shaking off her hold. "What are you saying? Of course, we give him to the church. They have been looking for him ever since he was prophesied." Grey's eyes flashed. "And that monster will go to the church as well. Hopefully, they can burn away that stain before it corrupts Ina."

Milly smacked his arm. "Think Grey! You just happened to find the Heir and a heathen? No...no, this is His Will! We were chosen, don't you see?!"

Grey's eyes widened. "Milly-"

"You think it was just a coincidence? What are the chances, Grey? They have been looking for him for years and he ended up near our house?"

Grey hesitated. "It is a little strange."

Milly felt a rush of confidence. "We were chosen, blessed by his love to nurture his Heir and raise him until he takes his rightful place above us!" Milly's eyes lit fanatically. "We will present him to the church but only when he is ready when he has learned the teachings in the Lumine and is ready, as we are, to do Luminos's bidding! And with him at the head of the Church, we will rise with him as his caretakers, sitting beneath only him! We would be holier than the priestess!"

Milly tries to catch her breath as she clutches her chest. Her heart was racing, the euphoria of the future so bright, so couldn't see the tattered house around her.

Yes, now she lived day by day, but it was a test. A test she could now see given to her by Luminos to see if she would stay faithful to him even in trying times. And she did! Milly stayed faithful and in reward, he gave her his Heir to nurture and be blessed with.
