In a shrine of crystal held up with pillars of gold, an oracle of light stared into a large silver bowl filled with blessed water.

The soft breath of the Light oracle sent the stars' reflections dancing as the water rippled. Her kimono white sleeves turned translucent as with reverent fervor she dipped her hands in, eyes wide and pale lips trembling.

The Light oracle cradled in her hand a star's reflection that shined so bright, the other stars faded from view due to its brilliance. Her cheeks flushed and the maidens around her glanced at each other in wonder.

The messenger waiting at the edge of the shrine's doorway anxiously trembled as he waited for the news.

"May Luminos's Blessing grace us all." The Light oracle breathed, eyes like pearls falling on the messenger. Her plump pink lips smiled, giving a feeling of saintly love and affection.

"A powerful star was born tonight." She stated, carefully setting the star's reflection back into the blessed water as it pulsed with life.

"A star?" The messenger asked nervously.

"A god among gods-" The Light oracle explained, the maidens gasping.

*************** "-it's disgusting." The Dark oracle told her brethren, all cloaked in black and watching with piercing eyes.

The dark oracle stared venomously at the entrails, blood dripping off the wooden table. Her bewitching eyes looked up, a dark smile gracing her lips.

"We must erase the threat to the gods of Umbra." She flung her hand out, blood flying off her fingertips as her cloak flared out behind her.

"Send out the Purified!!" The Dark oracle licked the excess blood off her palm, stained lips curved downward. "We cannot let those light-loving torches nurture that monster!!"

*****************

"-We must protect our new flame of light!!" The Light oracle beseeched. "We must hurry! Before those-" The Light oracle's soft lips twisted into an ugly snarl. "-disgusting, tainted insects - "

*****************

"- find it first!" The Dark oracle jumped off the high alter, leaving a trail of blood in her wake.

*************

The light oracle stepped away from the altar, a row of maidens following devoutly behind her.

Neither saw the sign.

In the blessed water, a flash of light suddenly appeared. The star's dark light eclipsed the pool and sent the water into darkness.

The entrails exploded, showering the bloody floor.

No one noticed his birth.

But all would remember his legacy.

The sixth god.

***************

And this is where our story begins. The story that almost killed off humanity. The truth of how the Sixth god came to be.

In this darkness, I will tell the tale to the captive audience.

My tale.

And the ones who died along with it.
