The Parallel Side

Chapter 10. Flux.

     I wake up still strapped to the vertical table my whole body is shaking and from where I am I notice different objects in the room floating in the air but then dropping. In a continuous cycle. I know I have the ability to do that. But I'm not controlling it. When I look down at my hands they are still strapped. Though they seem to be flickering in and out of view. My eyes are blurry, but I attempt to look around the room.

     I spot the headmaster observing me from a chair in the room. Still shaking and having a headache I stare at him. "What did you do to me!"

He sees me and grins. "Finally awake, are we?" I struggle in the Straps, seeing my hands disappearing the reappearing again giving me more of a headache. 

My powers are out of control.  He did something to them. "Don't worry.  The shaking will wear off soon." He pauses then walks next to the table. "You know you should be thanking me. I've just increased the power in your abilities" I glare at him not saying anything, but I am forced to stop from my headache.  "Why... why would you need that?"
     

He chuckles a little. "That was only the first step." Then he gives me a smirk that sends shivers down my back. I think. I'm in trouble.

        The zygons take me into one of the main control rooms. I spot the Doctor chained to a wall next to an imposter of me taunting him. The zygon leads me over to the same wall chaining me next to him, both our Impostors standing over us. "Hi Doctor." I wave the best I can to him Despite being chained.  He greets me "Hello. Parallel Katrina" I smile at him calling me by that. The two imposters walk away leaving us chained to the wall. The Doctor looks around the looks at me.

      "They told me their plan. They plan on keeping you here. That way you can't find your parallel self to get back." He watches the zygons busy on the monitors. Then continued "They plan on screwing up both the timelines." I watch the zygons too.

 Hearing him explain thinking about what that could mean. Then I got exactly what that would mean. "That would make our timelines unstable, and they could enter both our world's easily and change anything in it. It would create a time Flux in both my world, and hers, pretty much making a large time Flux in us ourselves..." I trail off feeling weighed down by the situation. 

       The Doctor doesn't say anything but just nods. "We have to stop them and quickly.  They could distort all of time that way. But first. We've got to get out of here and find your parallel" he shakes the chains. I look at him. "How in the world. Are we supposed to get out?" He is staring at a certain piece of machinery.  I matched his gaze. Studying the same machinery, then I recognized the shape of it. "That. That's the same machine they used. It must be the world switcher!"

       He nods. "If we can get to it, we can use it to get to your parallel self. Then fix this" 

I shake my chains, agreeing "They took my sonic. They tricked me into Giving it to them. We need to get out..." I trail off as I suddenly get a massive headache.  The Doctor looks at me seeming to know the reason I have a headache.  "It's starting. If we don't get out of here soon. You and your parallel will be in permanent flux." I open my eyes still not getting any rest from the painful headache and hear him. Now desperate to get out but struggling with the chains I see no way out.

       Somehow, I know that's not the reason for the headache.  Somehow sensing something is going on with my other self.

           I stare at the headmaster.  "What did you do!" He simply smirks at my yelling. Then he answers.  "Your powers. They are in flux. At least until the next step."

I Interrupted him, the headache seeming to get worse. "What's the next step!? What are you doing to me!... Ahhh!" I close my eyes but not seeming to stop the piercing headache that's making my head feel like it was hit with a sledgehammer. He sees me in pain and almost seems to enjoy my screams of agony.  Then he leans over and whispers in my ear. "Soon. You and your powers will be under my control."

        Back with the zygons I sensed something was going on with my other self. I was in too much pain from the headache to speak but I gave the Doctor a look of concern, trying to tell him that it's not because of that. He gives me back a worried look. As he knows what it meant. 

  His real Daughter was in trouble.
