Chapter 2: The Capture
Zuko had gotten on his armor with some help from some of our crewmates before Nami helped place his helmet over his head. Nami had already changed in some clothes she could move in. Armor wasn't her thing, she relied on her agility and the armor would only slow her down. Instead she wore thick black leggings with a long red and black tunic.
The two ended up next to where the metal ramp would fall once the ship was at port. The ship ran right through the ice where the village was, so Nami had to work hard to keep herself grounded.
"This is it," Nami said to Zuko. He nodded to her before exiting the ship first, Nami being to his right just behind him. Nami saw the fear in all of the tribe's faces and felt a pain of guilt. They only wanted the avatar and wouldn't harm anyone else unless they absolutely had to. There was one boy who stood out to Nami, he was in the front with a sort of ice cleaver. He had war paint on and looked to be the only male of the village.
"Don't hurt him, Zuko," She whispered as she saw how the boy looked to be about their age. After when Nami said that however, the boy charged up their ramp towards Zuko. Before he could make contact, Zuko high kicked him in the face before using his momentum from the kick to thrust downward and to the right to through the boy over the side of the ramp. Nami glanced and saw his head stuck in the snow.
Zuko and Nami walked in front of the villagers and looked around for the avatar. Nami talked in a soft voice so only Zuko could hear her, "I do not see the avatar, but I do recognize the girl with the fur on the outside of her sleeves. She was the one we saw in the telescope."
Zuko nodded once, "Where are you hiding him?" Nobody spoke and Zuko scanned his eyes over the crowd. Nami was trying to read the expressions that were on the villagers' faces. It was no use though because it was so silent that she could only hear the wind. Zuko glanced at Nami who slowly shook her head in response to his silent question.
Zuko sighed as he grew impatient and grabbed one of the elders standing next to the girl who was with the avatar, "He'd be about this age, master of all the elements." Nami read the faces of the villagers, she felt as though Zuko was going about this the wrong way.
"Let the old lady go and let me try," Nami spoke to Zuko. Zuko nodded and thrust the elder back into the group of the tribe member, "Listen, we are not here to harm you. We just want to know where the avatar is."
The villagers still looked ahead with blank expressions and before Nami could stop Zuko, he bended some flames. Nami just barely got out of the way and felt her left arm get slightly burnt. The flames were shot in a crescent shape and just barely touched the villagers as well.
"I know you are hiding him," Zuko exclaimed in frustration, his voice rising. Nami wished she could help calm him down, but she knew his anger made his fire bending stronger. He may need that slight advantage when the avatar finally showed himself.
Nami heard a yell come from behind and noticed it was the boy who Zuko had thrown off the ramp earlier. Nami knew she could handle the boy. As he charged towards Zuko, she stopped him last minute by grabbing his arm and throwing him a few feet ahead of the pair. He landed on his butt and tried to whip a boomerang at Nami. Zuko noticed this and through a flame towards the boy to block Nami getting hit. The boy then turned his target back onto Zuko as he threw the boomerang. Nami slightly pushed Zuko to the left as she noticed how accurate the boys aim was. Zuko let out a grunt as she pushed him. Zuko only got even more angry towards the boy.
The boy then entered a staring match with Zuko. The silence was broken as a little village boy yelled, "Show no fear!" A spear was thrown towards Zuko's opponent. The boomerang boy caught it with ease and started to run at Zuko. The spear was made of bone and so Zuko used a series of strategic punches and slices to the weapon. Then Zuko had grabbed the spear and began to jab the end of it onto the boy's forehead before snapping the remaining piece in half. Before Nami or Zuko could react, the boomerang came back and hit Zuko in the back of the head. After Zuko recovered, he was beyond angry as he clenched his fists and fire came out the bottom of his fists. Nami had to admit the boomerang boy's aim was pretty spot on, even if delayed. Before he could thrust the flames though Zuko was knocked in the air and forced to do a backflip and landed on his face. Nami got into a fighting stance as she moved as a protective barrier between Zuko and the culprit. To her surprise, it was the avatar. Only he wasn't what she expected.
