Hank POV
"Hank, hows our girl doing?" Antonio asked.
"It's not good but they say she will make a full recovery, though she has a long road ahead" I said. "We need to find a way to transfer her to Med, she needs to be home with us; her and her daughter".
"Understood, I'll see what I can" said Antonio.
I need to do this for her and that little girl or at least try. 'Maybe I should ring Will' I thought."Doctor Halstead" Will answered.
"Will it's Hank, I need a favour" I said.
"Sure what's up?" He asked.
"Erin's been in an accident, were at New York Presbyterian, she's gonna be okay but she's still unconscious at the moment, I want her transferred to Med so we can take care of her throughout her recovery". I explained.
"Erin... okay, let me have a think and I'll get back to you okay? He asked.
"Thanks Will".
All I could do now is wait and hope that something can be arranged. After grabbing some coffee I made my way to Erin's room, when I got to the door I was taken aback by what I saw; my daughter battered and bruised, machines connected to her fragile body and Jay, his hand in hers just watching her, you could tell it was tearing him up inside, he loved her, he always has.
Jay POV
I looked up as Voight was entering the room, coffee in hand, it was definitely needed I was exhausted. "How's she doing?" He asked. I just shrugged, I mean it was a crazy thing to ask she in an induced coma but it broke the ice I guess. "Still beautiful" I replied "Even with all the marks covering her body". We both sat in silence for a little while, the only noise was the beeping of the machines, only broken by me needing to know the answer to one question! "I have to ask Voight, did you know?" Had they both kept it a secret? If so, why? "Our daughter?" I asked. He shook his head, "This was the first I heard about it too, and as for why, I do not know" he replied. "But she would have had her reasons". I believed him. "Just wish I knew, I could have helped her through it, been there for her!" I said, "She's going to need us now, we cant leave her here alone. She needs to come home with us, be with her family, it's where she belongs!!" I exclaimed. Putting a hand on my shoulder he said "I know I've already got Antonio and Will on it". I let out a sigh of relief, glad that Voight agreed. The best place for her was Chicago, with us, with me. Glancing around the room I saw the picture, forgetting to show Voight, picking it up off the desk I handed it to him "Your granddaughter 's 20 week scan".Hank POV
I took the picture out of Jay's hand and opened it, it was a sonogram picture. "Turn it over" he said. 'Ellie Camille Lindsay-Halstead, 20 weeks' it read. "Ellie is your mum?" I asked Jay. He nodded "Yup, perfect isn't it" he replied. I could have burst with pride. "Talking of your daughter, I know it's late but why don't you go see her for an hour, I've booked us a hotel close by we'll head over there after, we could use a little rest" I said. I wasn't happy leaving them here alone but it had been a long day and we were both exhausted. I knew that they would call with any changes, they were in good hands. He hesitated before agreeing and left the room. I stood up and sat in the chair closest to Erin and looked at the picture and her name again. My heart did a somersault as a tear filled my eyes "You did good kid" I said, gently kissing my daughter on the hand "You did good".An hour later...
Hank POV
I think I nodded off, woke by the noise of Jay entering "Hey" he said. "Hey, how's our littlest girl?" I asked. "She's perfect" he said with a slight smile on his face "Was just in time for a feed and then she fell asleep laid on my chest, she is so tiny and fragile". You could tell that the idea of having a child had finally sunk in and the pride I felt earlier, he was feeling it too.
