Voight POV
"Erm.. Erm.." is all she could mumble between the pauses. I know she knows deep down. "You know I haven't seen you smile this much, well since you left for New York" I said trying to coax it out of her. She still said nothing just smiled. "Look what ever you decide to do, know I'll always have you back, I'll do whatever I can to help". I put my arm over her shoulder and kissed her forehead before I got up to make some calls and check in with Adam, send the guys home.Erin POV
I didn't know what to say in that moment. I know he'd always help me, but its pretty clear I could never get my job back at the PD. I couldn't stay, I'd have no job. But I love him. If I go would he come? Would it be fair to ask him to come? Chicago is his home, it's my home too. For the first time in months everything felt right, how it's suppose to be. I love him. I'll always love him. Oh my God, "Stay" i said out loud.Jay POV
The Chinese restaurant was quiet, barely past opening so I was in and out in about 30 minutes. Barely time to stop and think about what Voight had said. I knew one thing though, I couldn't be without her, not again, not ever. She's my life, my girl's are my family. I know that I needed to tell her everything. Maybe I can move to New York with her and we can start fresh there and put this past year behind us. We needed to talk now before she made any decisions! I pulled up outside Voight's ran through the front "Erin...". But I was stopped in my tracks, " Stay, I love him and I want to stay".
I stood in the door. I looked over to her, she looked a little shocked having walked in on this, but then she smiled. "Say it again?" I said. Getting herself up of the sofa she made her way over to me. I placed the bags of food on the side and I met her half way. "I love you and I want to stay in Chicago with you and our beautiful daughter". I couldn't believe what I was hearing. "I love you too Erin" I said before moving in for a kiss.Voight POV
"Well it's about damn time!" I said, I couldn't be happier for them. They make each other better people, they just needed to admit it to each other before I could let her know... "I'm glad you chose that option as I have something I need to tell you.. Come sit I'll explain over dinner". They both had a confused look on their face. "Whats up" Erin said. "Well I've already spoken to your boss back in New York, told them it would be 6 months before you are fit for duty, but you'd still need physio after that, oh I also told her it could be a while before you are ready for full duties, and well.. to find a replacement as you weren't going back". Jay just laughed "Well I'm not gonna argue with that and I'm sure she didn't either". Erin looked a bit annoyed but she'd get over it, her home is here, with us. "Hank! It should have been me who told her" she said. "You are, she expects a call from you tomorrow to confirm" I replied. "Look, you know the best thing for you and Ellie is to be here, this is where you have always belonged, they would have done everything to guilt-trip you into staying with them. This way she knows". "And Bunny?" She asked. "That's Bunny's problem now... you think about yourself and that beautiful little girl over there". She looked over at Ellie and smiled "okay" she said."So I'll watch Ellie tonight" I said, their first night 'back together' they need time on their own. "You guys go do something and I'll drop Elle off in the morning before I head to work". "You sure" Jay asked. "Yeah of course I'm sure, go be a couple.. again". Both looking at each other "Thanks dad" Erin said, they quickly finished their meals, then left the table to pack Erin a bag for the evening.
