When Sans saw Red, he knew that this day would be hard. But if you asked him, he would have never think he would end up curled up on his bed, sobbing and deseperately fighting against that voice with all his might. He wished he never got out of bed this particular day. If only....
Several hours ago...
Sans was happily waiting for Red, almost giddy. The last days had been really great, and he hoped that after their session, they could maybe relax together. Denying now that he was in love with Red would be pretty stupid. Even his brother could see something about it. And he showed a supportive behaviour towards him and his 'BLOSSOMING RELATIONSHIP', and though it made Sans smile and roll his eyelights, it still brought warmth to his Soul. He...was begining to think that...it wouldn't be so bad. It was unethical? To hell with that, he would get another job if that was the price. He would go to therapies too. He would do pretty everything for Red. But not only for Red. For himself, for his brother and for their friends too. He should talk to them, not to get them to pity him, butbecause he trusted them, because he knew they would help him. *Ding dong*. Ah, that was probably for him.
Sans went to open the door, only to see a figure going straight for his couch, without even a greeting or anything. Said figure curled up on the couch, burying his face in his knees. Sans was looking at him, concerned. "Are you-" "Shut up. Don't want ta talk about it." Red growled hotly from his position, not looking at Sans. The latter decided to saty silent as he sat on the other end of the couch, waiting. He didn't do anything else, wanting to show the other that he had his full attention. After a while like this, the other angrily snarled, raising quickly his face to Sans. "The fuck are ya waiting? Shouldn't ya be trying to ask me what the hell is wrong with me?!" "B-But...you said th-that you didn't want to talk about it..." There was an uncomfortable silence stretching between them, before Sans heard quiet sniffles from Red. "I'm *sniff* I'm s-sorry... I-I didn't *sniff* I didn't w-want ta s-scream-m at y-ya... I...I..." Sans laid a gentle hand over Red's shoulder, though he tried to hide as much as possible his worry and concern. They had made so many progress since they began this a month ago. What could have been so hard on him to wipe out almost all of Red's progress?
"It's...alright. Stay there, I'll make you some herbal tea, it will help you relax a little, okay?" "...Okay...Th-thank ya..." "You're welcome, Red." Sans offered him a small smile and got up. He wanted so much to make him feel better by flirting a little with him, to confirme him in his feelings. But not now. Red didn't come to see Sans. He came to see the doctor Sans Seriff. So, he put the water to boil and he went for his cupboards, taking a mug. He searched in another set of cupboards and retrieved a bow full of herbal tea. "Do you prefer fresh mint, liquorice or red berries?" "...Red berries, please..." "Okay." Sans proceeded, then came back in the living room, a steaming mug in his hands. He handed it to Red, who thanked him quietly. Sans let Red some breathing room, letting him go at his own pace. When he saw that Red seemed to have relax enough, he decided that it was time. "So, do you want to talk about what put you in such state?"
About an hour later...
Sans was listening intently. So far, Red didn't talk about what had thrown him in such state, but Sans was patient. They talked about the previous days, so Red's mood would improve a little. And it did indeed. Red's mood lighten a little bit, letting his anger fade. But it was quickly replaced by sorrow. And Sans wasn't sure if he wanted to know why. But he had to. Red deserved it. He was trying to not stare at Red, wanting to give him some space. And after some time, Red fell silent. "Red? Are you alright?" "...No...I... I...*sniff*" "Red..." "I... *Inhale* I had...a n-nightmare..." Red went still, giving Red his full undivided attention. "W-Well...It's more a m-memory...from m-my Underground..." Ah, that was interesting. Red rarely talked about his Underground: it held too many bad memories. Too many awful feelings that did nothing but enhance his condition. "Okay.. Do you want to talk about it...?" "..." Red took a deep breath, trying to still his nerves, before he nodded. "I...I had a group of...'friends'...back U-Underground..." Sans frowned when Red spat the word 'friends'. That wasn't good... "B-Back then...I thought...I thought that they were my friends...But I realised when we reached the surface that...that they were just...using me. I was someone...they could use and dispose of when they didn't need me anymore..." Sans felt anger bubbling in his Soul. He knew things had been rough in Red's Underground, but hearing this... That was awful. "They would make me do things, like rob things, make me the scapegoat so they would get out of every situations unscathered while I would take all the blame."
Red took another breath, before continuing his story. "I was young, at that time, I didn't realise what was happening at that time. Still...That... That doesn't...*snif* that doesn't...excuse...what I did...*sob*" That hurt to see, and Sans was truly scared to know what happened. But he didn't have to ask, fo96r Red kept talking. "M-my dream...T-that m-memory... M-my 'f-friends'...th-they told me that...th-that I had t-ta rob...th-the old t-turtle...I-it... it was *sob* su-supposed t-ta j-j-j-ust b-be th-tha-at..." Sans tried to reach for Red, to stop him, to do anything to wipe that sad and pained look from his face. "Red... I-" "I didn't k-know th-that w-would happen! Ev-everything h-had g-gone well...But he w-woke up...and the o-others b-beat him t-t-ta d-death... A-And I...I-I c-c-could-ldn't d-d-do a-a-an-nyth-thing!!"
Sans stilled, his eyelights going wide. No...N-no... T-that c-couldn't be... As Red kept babling and sobbing, Sans felt himself getting detached from what was happening. "I-I-I to-old th-them t-t-ta st-stop! I-I-I b-b-begg-egged th-them t-ta-" 'Stop that! Stop pretending you care! You're just there for the money, nothing else!!' "R-Red..." "I-I a-a-ask-sked th-th-them! I-I-I to-told th-th-them-m th-th-that-" 'It's not true! I do care about you! Please, put that back on the table! we don't have to go that far! Please, listen to me!' 'Liar! They told me everything! You're not helping me! No one cares about me! No one!!' 'PLEASE! I BEG YOU! PUT THAT DOWN!!' '*Slash!*' 'No...no...nonononono...' "...S-Sans-s?" 'I'm sorry!! I'm sorry I 'm sorry ImsorryImsorryImsorryImsorryImsorryImsorry-' "Sans!" Before he could regain his senses, he was throwing up on the floor, tears streaming down his cheekbones, sobs shaking his frame. He was drowning, he failed, he failed again, he always failed, he- "Sans! What's wrong?" He didn't realise what had happened to Sans at the moment, too lost in his own memories, until he heard Sans chocking. His first reflex had been to immediately run to Sans and hold him in his arms, but Sans hadn'l let him do. He was quirming and crying, hyperventilating. And before he knew it, Sans had got up and run to his bedroom, locking his door behind him.
Red was on his own couch, curled up, his brother by his side, rubbing his back soothingly. He told his brother everything that had happened during this session, and his brother had decided to take the matters in his own hands. A mug of hot cocoa later, and they were watching an animated movie, with his brother crying hard. "IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE FOR KIDS! WHY IS IT SO SAD!!" Red couldn't help the soft chuckle to escape his teeth, at the sight of his brother crying like this. "...Thanks... And, I'm sorry for having disturb ya during yer date." "THAT'S ALRIGHT,BROTHER. THEY UNDERSTOOD IT." Red was about to reply, when he phone buzzed at him. He checked the ID, and his Soul skipped a beat. He immediately answered. "Sans! Are ya okay? I'm so sorry for having left, I should-" " 96, Liberty's street." "...uh?" "That's Dr Friskful address." "...But why are ya giving it ta me?" "Because she is the one who will have to take of you." "...What?!" "I'm sorry. I just can't. Not anymore. I can't help you. I'm too broken for that. You deseve better, so much better than that. I saw the details with her, and she is okay with that. I'm sorry, Red." "Sans Wait!" *Clic* Red was left there, his phone in his hand as he realised what just happened. Sans...gave up.
